Milano signs 4 year extension

I am stoked we resigned Milano. I think I always thought we would try to resign him, after all, McBeane has stated that the plan is to build through the draft and retain your own players.

It's going to be very interesting to see how this affects Edmunds and his 5th year option, as well as how we approach the draft.

I really like Milano but he needs to stay on the field.

I am glad we have Milano next to Edmunds, I was scared to think of an LB corp without Milano next to Edmunds this coming year. But yes, Matt needs to stay on the field. Helping greatly with the front seven play I think will be Star's presence eating up double teams, hopefully allowing Edmunds more opportunity. However, I am not sold that Edmunds will ever be that guy though.

Just Joshin

Nice job by both sides to get this done.  I am expecting the RT will be filled via the draft and Williams will walk.

Way too early to tag him with that label, especially at his age.

As we painfully learned this year on the DL, swapping out guys with those who are of similar production on paper doesn't always translate into a better team on the field.  Milano is clearly a difference maker on this defense and so keeping him at this price makes sense to me.

injury wise he had a tough year but he also toughed it out.  Years past he had normal injuries for a guy that plays balls to the wall which is an Aviation term people. Good move and good signing in my opinion. I like that they could do this and not create a hole.

Let us all hope and pray he’s just the FIRST of many guys to not try to squeeze every penny out of the team so we can keep the core together. I’ve seen estimates saying $12.5-13.5 per year was not unreasonable.

This is a nice start with some of the other deals coming up.

Definitely a home town discount on that contract.

I think he can afford to NOT buy anything he wants on that deal. 😊

Yup. This speaks volumes for what we have built here in Buffalo.

This is a big deal, at least to me.

The market is about to get flooded with LBs, but this gives us someone who already knows our D and his role in it, but more importantly, it's a massive message to the league pre-bloodbath that THIS the place you want to be, even if it means giving up a few million.

We can talk Xs and Os and health and whatever, but I'd rather keep Milano on a good deal than hope we can find someone else who may fit in and may fill his spot on a slightly better deal.

Bills by a billion.

Way Way WAYYYY too much for a guy with health issues. Not sure about this one.

It ain't your money and to suggest he has health issues is stretching reality.

Dude. Be happy.

Yeah, because for no other reason than his last name ends with an O.

Of course I know it's not my money.

🙄

And I am happy. Just concerned that they're now going to be hamstrung from pursuing opportunities on the DL/CB/TE front.
