It might be an improvement as it’s insane to exclude major conferences champs, but then again this format leaves the door wide open for them to put some 5th place SEC team in a playoff.  Also, 12 teams means bye weeks for the standard darling teams.

Change it to six champs + 2 at large teams (max of 1 from any conference).

Will be interesting to see what the ACC/B10/P12 conference alliance amounts to.   If they were smart and had the balls, they'd announce a national championship format with a four team playoff, that guarantees one spot each to the 3 majors and 1 slot to an Independent or non-major (subject to the non-major conferences signing on).  Basically exclude the SEC entirely.  But of course, they won't have one-tenth the balls required to do that.

Penn St upsets Wisconsin, 16-10 :cheer:

PSU's defense was very impressive, but Wisconsin really shat the bed with those fumbles and that horrible secondary.  How many times can you let the other team's top WR run completely free downfield??

Also, another appearance of the awful college "targeting" rule.

Is it too soon for me to nominate the LT for Alabama for the Pro Football HOF? Evan Neal is a 6’7” 350 lbs monster who can actually play!

OK, maybe I wait until this game is finished…..

I don’t usually buy the hype for ‘Bama linemen, but I am impressed!
