Exactly where I am.

If they continue to have biased performers as the "moderators", then the hell with tjhem.

I see little downside as the Republican base is well aware of the sorry state of the 'debates' and will not hold it against tem.

As for the rest, most Americans are now waking up to the media, as the polls show.

DON'T go to the debates !

I disagree.

Fully one third of voters are independents.  The principle is clear, but if even 10% of indy-voters think the Republican candidate is throwing a juvenile tantrum then the R Candidate isn't going anywhere.  Sometimes standing on principle might as well be the same thing as standing on a landmine.

A solution:  Have the DNC Chair ask the R candidate questions, and have the RNC chair ask the D candidate questions (or something along those lines).

The media no longer reports the news, they are the news now.

The last time I watched CNN was...the St. Louis riots, several years back, when CNN had two reports on-site interviewing each other about how they were exposed to tear gas.

Honestly, the only news network I've found remotely worth watching since then has been - unbelievably enough - the now-defunct al-Jazeera America,

A better solution: have the debaters debate, and the moderators keep their role limited to ensuring duels don't break out.

Seriously...I don't want to watch a debate where the moderator contributes.  I want to watch a debate where people discuss, and the moderator simply sets boundaries and keeps time.

Clarification: don't break out frequently.  I wouldn't much mind seeing AOC and Lauren Boebert going at it knives estrappados.  But that's probably more of a "House floor" thing than a debate thing.

My money would be on Boebert

No question AOC can't take a punch. She grew up on Long Island, despite her bullshit claims of being from the 'hood.

A Juxtaposition Is Approaching:

In the coming New Year, 2022, both Groundhog Day and the State of the Union address will occur on the same day.

This is an ironic juxtaposition of events.

One involves a meaningless ritual in which we look to an insignificant creature of little intelligence for prognostication.

The other involves a groundhog.

Major U.S. airline CEOs warn 5G could ground some planes, wreak havoc

Quote

The chief executives of major U.S. passenger and cargo carriers on Monday warned of an impending “catastrophic” aviation crisis on Wednesday when AT&T and Verizon are set to deploy new 5G service.

The airlines warned the new C-Band 5G service could potentially make a significant number of widebody aircraft unusable and “could potentially strand tens of thousands of Americans overseas.”

“Unless our major hubs are cleared to fly, the vast majority of the traveling and shipping public will essentially be grounded,” wrote the chief executives of American Airlines, Delta Air Lines, United Airlines, Southwest Airlines and others.

The FAA has warned that potential interference could affect sensitive airplane instruments such as altimeters and impact on low-visibility operations. ...

So I'm wonderin' about the coincidence of many states approving gambling (to the point its presence has overtaken the airwaves in terms of commercials and "testimonies" by athletes and celebrities), and the expansion of ad nauseam government giveaways.   It reminds me of the slogan "bread and circuses" which historically referred to the distraction of the masses for the purpose of solidifying power.

I am truly concerned that another election cycle like the last one will further cement the current path to financial, social and equitable government ruin in our nation.

Could be on to something there. The '24 race is likely to be Trump v Biden - with an outside shot of Biden being challenged from within his own party to top that off (Clinton anyone?).

I'm not 100% sure, but I'm fairly certain this was written about by the Mayans when they were listing signs of the end of the world. The upcoming election cycle(s) (including midterms) are going to make 2016 look like pee-wee football in comparison.

It's going to be ugly for everyone.

It wasn't.  The Mayans didn't write prophecies.  They just created astronomical calendars, the longest of which "ended" (i.e. recycled to the start) in 2012.

Most "Mayan prophecies" are Western apocalyptic porn backfitted to the Mayan calendar.

A Bloomberg article.

Boris Johnson’s Key Aides Quit, Leaving Premier on the Brink

Quote

The crisis engulfing Boris Johnson’s government deepened as four top aides quit, with one unleashing a devastating attack on his judgment. ...

... The rush of departures has sparked fresh unease within the ruling Conservative party. One former minister talked about Johnson’s premiership with a hint of melancholy, as if it was already effectively over. Another Tory MP said that Mirza’s resignation was a huge blow to Johnson.

Plot Threat

A third said that her letter made it clear that there is now an organized plot against the premier and it may well succeed in bringing him down. ...

Even Herman Melville knew it when he wrote Moby Dick.

"...gives no quarter in the truth, and kills, burns, and destroys all sin though he pluck it out from under the robes of Senators and Judges."
