China threatens Japan with Nuclear Weapons

This has gone under the radar because not a single news outlet has touched it, though it’s probably the single largest, most important, and most dangerous development of the world in most of our lifetimes.

The CCP has changed it’s nuclear policy, which had largely mirrored that of the other nuclear states: that nuclear weapons were simply a deterrent, and that mutually assured self-destruction was not a path the world wanted to go down.

The Chinese Military has now altered that policy with what they call “The Japan Exception”. See below.

The Chinese Communist Party sux. They threaten Australia all the time. They threaten India, too. Not surprising that these two countries, plus Japan and the US, formed the “quad”. I’d wager that there are a lot of S China Sea countries that will jump in on the quad side of things when things get bad. I’d also bet that Taiwan is a tough nut for the Chinese to crack. They’d succeed but at a pretty high cost.

That said, they’ve got big big problems coming and a very small window of time to be aggressive. They have a demographic catastrophe that is only going to get worse. Their water is polluted. They can’t feed themselves. And if they run out of work for their people to do they will have an economic nightmare and internal social unrest.

It is going to be a very messy flameout and they are going to take a lot of their neighbors with them before they implode.

Soon after the 2022 Winter Olympics we will see what happens. They’re setting the table now.

All they are going to accomplish with this nonsense is to force the Japanese to rescind their Constitutional prohibition against nuclear weapons.

Besides which, do the Chinese really think we won't honor our obligations to Japan and retaliate with nuclear weapons against their cities, should they act so foolishly?

This administration would never aid Japan against China. The US is currently a subsidiary of China.

Yeah, but they need Australia (and to a smaller extent the Philippines) in order to feed their army, they only want to scare India.

This is unfortunately the truth of this current administration so I would expect China to work fast, especially if they know the election was fraudulent. Yes, proving that may throw us into a Constitutional crisis, but nothing brings America back together quicker than a war against a big bully

China and India are fighting over Ladakh in the Himalayas.  That area borders on Pakistan -- who has significant financial entanglements with China.  Plus (and maybe more important), I think there has to be some water resources from snow melt that China needs to protect.  Seems like it is more than just scare tactics.  China wants to get into that region -- maybe to get easier access to Iranian oil, certainly to protect water sources.

And I don't believe that the US, even under the current administration, would leave Japan to get steamrollered by China.

Couldn't really blame the Japanese at this point.  It would not exactly be Neville Chamberlain like for the other world leaders to stay out of Japan's way.

Just another outgrowth of the former vice president's inept actions and totally lost sense of world politics.  China, Russia, Afghanistan, Iran, the nations are lining up to expand their hegemony in the face of the United States of America's inability to present a stable presence among the countries of the world.  In matters foreign and domestic he is overwhelmed and incapable of acting in the best interest of our nation.

Remember, the former vice president is the one "responsible" [Yeah, I know, a perfect oxymoron.] for honoring obligations at this point....  He can't get the day of the week straight.

Given the premise under which his administration  operates he won't be able to honor our obligations because it might be interpreted as doing something Trump might do.

I have yet to see evidence that Biden feels any particular urge to act in the best interest of our nation. If we’d wanted that, we would have voted for Trump.

Oh wait. We did.
