I doubt Dak will play but I really want to see him throw off his back foot, so I hope he at least plays a drive tonight.

Preseason football has always been like watching soft porn on Cinemax.

 

It's not really porn, but it's close enough for the time being.

 

We're about to enter the "Pinch me. I think I'm dreaming." leg of the Josh Allen experience. I'm an unapologetic homer, so take it with a grain of salt when I say I believe he can bring a trophy to Buffalo. A couple of them, actually.

 

If you get a chance to watch training camp news on the NFL Network, you really get a sense of how much better the Bills look going into this season than most every other team. 

 

I understand there are a lot of variables that have to be considered; staying healthy being at the top of the list. But I haven't been this optimistic since 1989.

I remember the dark days when offensive success was measured by first downs and a sustained drive that would get into scoring range.

Something that dawned on me during the game last night:

 

I'd like to see a HC use their last pre-season game to announce a few days before the game -- without anyone on the team knowing -- that the team will have to go into the last pre-season game as if the HC (and maybe even the OC and DC) got Covid and need to quarantine. 

 

What does that drill look like? Who slides into the HC, OC, DC role for the game? How players and coaches react would provide terrific insight to the kind of people you're surrounded by.

 

Just a thought.
