Gambling Thread...Bills Fans Super Contest?

Hey All..the gambling discussion in the Covid thread got me thinking of a few things gambling related.

1) I ran a pool couple years ago based on the Westgate Supercontest a few years back. In essence you pick 5 games a week ATS, 1 point for every correct pick. Person with most points at end of year wins! $50 entry fee, think we had about 20 folks in. Super fun and a good way to test your handicappeing skills without risking a ton of money. Anyone here interested in it?

2) With legal books now and the ability to wager minuscule amounts, gunna be able to test my theory my theory betting every moneyline dog is profitable play over the course of an NFL season. So its a $1 on every  moneyline dog, will post my weekly results here!

AFCE Betting lines.

Bettors Hammering Buffalo Bills in AFC East Betting Market

  • 61% of the AFC East bets at DraftKings have been placed on the Buffalo Bills.
  • The Bills are the -155 betting favorite to win the division for the second straight campaign.
  • Buffalo was three quarters away from an appearance at Super Bowl LV last season.

Bettors at online sportsbook DraftKings have been hammering the Buffalo Bills’ divisional odds.

According to the said bookmaker, Buffalo has accounted for 61% of their AFC East bets. The New England *Patriots, who recently announced their QB1, are second with 20% of the total wagers while the Miami Dolphins and New York Jets have 12% and 4% of the AFC East betting pie.

The betting action on the Bills is expected though as Buffalo is currently a -155 favorite to win the AFC East at the BetOnline App. The Bills are also just a +225 to finish second, +575 to finish third, and a longshot +1800 to finish at the bottom of their division this season. If you talk about betting odds, that’s just the tip of the iceberg. ...

I bet the Bills to win the AFC at +550.  For example if I bet $100 I get back $650.

Good luck and I sincerely hope you win that bet!

Are DraftKings and/or FanDuel the best places to make football bets?   Or do all the major casinos offer the same thing now?

Do US based sites only take bets from residents of states that have legalized sport wagering?

Here is my 2 cents, take if for whats it worth.

ly

First, make sure you know what services/apps are legal in your state. Not all states have legalized all apps. And yes, sports betting needs to be legal in your home state in order for you to place wagers, and yes part of the registration process is an id check and geo location matching. Having said that, Fanduel is legal in VA and WVA...in VA i could not bet Va Tech as cant bet VA colleges..but at game in Morgantown yesterday could bet on Tech as i was now in WVU. In short, the rules are squirrelly and somewhat figure them out as you go LOL!!!

Second, research and understand first time deposit promotions at each site. Make sure you do read the terms of the promotion, as not all promotions are equal. MOST IMPORTANT for today.. DRAFTKINGS has a refer a friend promotion, we ech get a $200 free bet.so DM me for referral link!

For instance, this year , week 1,  Draftkings offered 8 $25 free bets with a deposit of at least $5 and a bet of $1. I had not used draftkings in the past so I qualified. The $25 bets were free, but you kept only the winnings of the bet, not the initial $25 stake they gave you. But it was a great promo..i have close to $600 in that account now after depositing $25 and only risking $1 of my money. Now last week was crazy good for Moneyline Underdogs, and i hit two 3 team parleys so stupid lucky on my part.

Many sites you will see "Rick Free Bet Up To $2K with first deposit". What that really means is they will give you a bet credit equal to the amount you lose on first bet, not actual cash money.

Again most important thing is to read and understand the terms of the promo, and max out all of the ones that make  most sense for you...

Also, make sure you check the promo tabs each week for each site. Draftkings had a no risk $25 same game parlay this week...i lost on Thursday, get to play another today...so all those things help.

Now, lets say you have used all your promos, and are onto just actual cash betting with YOUR money lol. At that point, you absolutely need to line shop the particular bet you want to make. These guys all have proprietary  algo's they rely on to set lines, and the payouts and spreads can be vastly different at the various sites. Often times they are all the same, but plenty of times there are some massive differences. Massive in NFL meaning as much a point difference in the spread, which can have a really big impact on your wins or losses...and even more often a half point difference, which can be the difference on many games as good as these spreads are! And the money lines can vary by as much as 25% sometimes!

Best site to check all the lines is at"https://www.scoresandodds.com/nfl" . Now i always use their  app on the phone, so not so sure of navigation on desktop. On app, Bottom menu just hit "compare odds", then a menu will pop up to compare spreads, moneyline payouts etc. Great free app!

Outside of that, they are all reputable, and all get paid quick. Interfaces are all a bit clunky, but you get used to them pretty quick.

Having said ALL OF THAT...if betting is not legal in your state, and you want to place a bet, dm me and we can work it out most Sundays depending where I am physically located
