Impressive that while he was only in for a few plays, Breida made such an impact.

👍

Breida reminds me of the guys the **Patriots always sign...specialty players that just murder you in certain specific situations (like 3rd downs where down and distance means it could be run or pass).  I love that Beane is so malleable towards having specialists on the roster.   Most NFL games are decided by a handful of plays and guys like Brieda are difference makers.

Still a tad surprised we didn’t even try a running play until we’d thrown 12-15 passes or something like that. Last week we showed some ability to run the ball, today we barely tried with the first team.

They way this offense rolls, I think we’ll be playing with some leads and might want to be able to run and eat clock, but maybe we’ll just keep the foot on the gas and put up 60 on somebody!

if 5-6 yd passes are gimme's

why bother trying to run and pick up 1-2 yds?

the clock is moving and 1st downs are easier to pick up

this is the play that is putting terror in the hearts of DCs

no safety help on post pattern

the rap on Josh has been inconsistency on the deeper passes

that 1 pass pretty much mandates deep safety help on almost all pass plays

I understand that, and that they wanted to get Josh into rhythm in his limited preseason reps. I get it.  At the same time, even Beane said after last season we need to run the ball better. I was hoping we might see more of an effective run game, though early in the Detroit game it was promising.

I’m not talking about this game, but more of a general observation. There will be times we need to run the ball due to game circumstances, weather, etc and I hope we have improved since last season.

I own the original slogan logo on a t-shirt and love wearing it. People ask what that is, and it's a great way to show them the video, which is horrifically awesome.

For horrifically awesome, it ranks right up there with the Whammy Weenie.

That's hilarious! I was too young so I didn't have one of those. But I remember going into Bell's all the time as a kid in the Southgate plaza.

No, you'd better not.  It could end up being like Bobby Marsha's Tiki Idol.

Best to leave that thing where it is.

I hate to say it...but dude has "slow eyes".

Given I doubt the offense really gameplanned and were without Diggs, they looked REALLY solid.  Sanders is such a get.

I can't overstate my joy the day they sent BooBooFoot and captain puff packing. Was then I knew they knew what they were doing.

Very cool, that would be a nice tailgating item.

I have one of the enameled pins that I used to keep on a red corduroy cap I had from the '70s. The hat totally disintegrated about 10 years ago, but i still have the pin.

I think Josh still struggles with throwing the fly or go route.  He does not put a lot of air under the ball so the WR doesn't get the chance to slow down and position himself for the catch or run under it.  For all his faults, Tyrod could drop a ball right over a guys shoulder and in the bucket.

Josh looks great when throwing deep routes to a WR who is breaking to a corner or in this example is moving back toward the middle of the field.  The TD pass to Gabe was an incredible throw and a tough catch as that ball had serious heat on it.  Josh burned teams all last year on those deep crossers or on the run with a WR working back toward the sideline.

If Josh can make defenses pay and hit on a few of those home run balls it will be another thing for DCs to worry about, but I think he can still be wildly successful in this league without that throw.
