When I was in the hospital, I simply wasn't allowed any visitors due to COVID.  You're not allowed past the lobby in MD hospitals if you're not being treated.

Western Australia's being downright generous in comparison, allowing vaccinated parents to visit children.

:classic_blink:

A 6 year old who is a cancer patient or awaiting surgery shouldn't have their parents there because the parents are not vaccinated against a covid strain that no longer exists?  And that is "generous?"

A six year old who is a cancer patient awaiting surgery can't have their parents there in a MD hospital at all, regardless of vaccination status.

Comparatively, yes.

Parents are advocates for children. Parents are most certainly there with their children. You wait in the room with your child until they are wheeled off to surgery, and then sent to a room to await them while they are operated on. The surgeon then goes to that room to tell you how your child did after surgery (someone other than the surgeon will come in with updates if it is a long surgery), and then you either wait there until they are assigned a new room (where you go to await them), go to recovery when your child wakes up, or go to their room to await them.

No kidding.

And at least Western Australia gives parents that opportunity.  Unlike Maryland.

IT SPREADS: Australia’s BIGGEST convoy descends on the capital: A huge anti-mandate protest is underway in Australia today.

“A huge crowd is building in Canberra as the anti-mandate Convoy To Canberra protest gains momentum in the nation’s capital. Last night traffic was brought to a standstill as cars, caravans, trucks and buses flooded into the city from all states. The crowd today met at Commonwealth Park before starting the march to Parliament House where a range of speakers will address the crowd.”

Apparently they used LRAD/DEW weapons on the crowd in Australia.

Thread Reader roll out. Some of the claims are questionable but... some are not all that far fetched.

Missed the NZ PM getting slapped around by the courts:

...

'Not demonstrably justified': High Court upholds challenge to Police and NZDF vaccination mandates, terminations suspended

High Court challenge questioning the legality of Covid-19 vaccination mandates for Police and Defence Force employees has been upheld, with the court determining that the government mandate is an unjustified incursion on the Bill of Rights.

In a decision released today, Justice Francis Cooke determined that ordering frontline police officers and Defence staff to be vaccinated or face losing their job was not a "reasonably justified" breach of the Bill of Rights.

The lawyer for the police and Defence staff at the centre of the claim is now calling for the suspended workers to return to their jobs immediately, saying many have given decades of service to their community and are still committed to their jobs.
