Just one time with “have another donut Kotarski” would be a fun mix.

STUPID "LOTTERY"

Let's be realistic, though...at least two Rangers on the ice had to suck, badly, for that play to happen.

It's not that they suck...guys just know they don't have the speed/skill to deal with McDavid, so they lock up.  He massively intimidates pretty much everyone in the NHL.

Everyone but Dylan Cozens. 😉

Fun game to watch.  Glad you were wrong about Toker 🙂

Not expecting much from Dell tonight though.

It was.  And likewise.  If he can actually keep up the Tim Thomas imitation, it'll be huge for advancing the rebuild.  He looked very good last year, but was concerned that once teams started to take him seriously they'd find exploitable flaws as he's a bit undersized.  But Bales has worked wonders w/ him so far.

If Bales can get Dell, who really seems done at the NHL level, back to his old form they'll need to pay him whatever he wants and guarantee he retires a Sabres coach.

Unfortunately won't be at tonight's game because just can't justify driving in 2 nights in a row.  Hopefully the Loaf fans that bought the tix aren't too obnoxious or even better, whoever bought them are actually Sabre fans.

No full recap of last night; too much celebrating during & after the game.  Cozens was the 1st star & Tokarski the 2, but thought those 2 should've been flopped.  (Draisatl was the 3rd star.)

The reffing was awful the 1st 2 periods.  31 should've been fined by the league for calling Bryson for tripping Yamamoto.  Absolute HORRIBLE call.  Pretty sure the league spoke to the crew in the 2nd intermission because they actually stopped making things up in the 3rd.

Thought Granato was nuts to have Cozens going head to head w/ McDavid, but he flat out was up to the challenge.  Turned out that decision was brilliant..  He had exactly 1 oops the entire game - early in the 2nd Connor stripped him of the puck but Toker bailed him out.  Even when Draisatl was added to the line Cozens, Vinny, & Caggiula held their own.

After the 1st 6 minutes when they were giving the Eulers too much respect they played them evenly &/or outplayed them.

And Dahlin looked much better w/ Pysyk than he had on the roadtrip w/ Butcher.  Hope that trend continues.

And it was another REALLY fun game to be at.  Attendance was up slightly, but still likely not quite 5,000 in the building.  Will be interesting to see how many fans come tonight.

This is all on the Sabres FO.   Case in point, we had a group of about 12 ready to go to the game last Saturday.   Obviously with low ticket sales, there wasn't much secondary market activity.  So I called the ticket office to see what they could do.  I figured they'd work real hard to get 12 fannies in the seats, plus concessions & merch.

The "best" they could do was 10% off the ticket price.   No thank you.

Would say it's 1/2 of the management & 1/2 on Canadian travel restrictions for crossing the border.  That Detroit game was the 1st game that Canadians were allowed to get back into Canada if they came over.  But they still would have to have a negative test w/in IIRC 3 hours of trying to head back.  So they either have to stay the night, leave the game early so a pregame test is recent enough, or find a rapid test site open until midnight.

Too much of a hassle for the Canadian fans to come over & that's ~1/2 of the base.

But, yeah, when they aren't selling ANY tix, you'd expect some sort of accommodation for people looking to bring a group.  But selfishly, will be really unhappy if they do try lowering prices in general because there are a LOT of games we can't go to, and the people we split seats w/ don't want to go to.  Will be significantly subsidizing others using our seats should that happen.  As opposed to slightly subsidizing them.

That was quite a fortunate game.

True.  The Pens should've been buried before the 3rd started.

BTW, Jokiharju practiced today & was Bryson's partner in drills.

2 awesome things there.  Henri's back & he might not play with Dahlin.

It’s that kind of Sunday today 😞

I was there. They played the third period like they were trying to hold a lead, or at least sneak out with a point. Not the typical amount of Sabres fans you normally see.
