Our neighborhood in Sarasota went ALL IN for Halloween! They had 36 holes of golf so tons of golf carts, plus many people had their own either for golf or four seaters for just cruising. THEN…they brought in truckloads of additional carts.

I’ve never seen anything like it! Some people walked, but it was a huge community so many rode. The first year I messed up sitting at home (wife was out of town). Not a single knock on the door so I went out to see how it worked. WOW! People would set up at the end of the driveway with “stations”. Some would give out candy bars, some had fajitas and margaritas. The people three doors down had a taco station and a live band in the driveway. The people across the street had a three car garage converted (over 4-6 weeks!) into an AMAZING haunted house. Very clever and ambitious people!

At 8:00PM sharp, everyone went to the clubhouse where they had DJ’s and costume contests. The place was HUGE! Capable of holding two giant weddings at the same time. Halloween was the one night of the year it was stretched to the limit.

Ahhh, good times…..

Oh, and nobody had to wear a coat over their costume!
