Just Jack
Syracuse native, former Buffalo Bills CEO named new XFL president Quote Syracuse native Russ Brandon, a former CEO for the Buffalo Bills, has been named the new president of the XFL. ESPN reports Brandon was among a number of former NFL and XFL executives hired Monday for the rival football league’s upcoming return in 2023. ... The league’s other new hires include former New York Giants personnel evaluator Marc Ross as executive vice president of football operations; former Bills general manager Doug Whaley as Ross’ deputy; and former New York Guardians president Janet Duch as chief marketing and content officer.

A league historically known for flash over substance will now be run by a guy who is all sizzle & no steak.

They've got an awesome track record.

One might say they're perfect for their positions, as they have a long track record running bush league teams.

Not the greatest GM ever.

He always seemed like a pretty decent dude and he is a pretty good talent evaluator (EJ Manuel notwithstanding) but his team building left much to be desired (obviously).

He did pretty good work with free agent signings. But the NFL draft? That’s a different story. He used the 4th overall pick on Watkins. He used a first round pick on Shaq Lawson; whom the Bills recently re-signed for around the vet minimum. If there was a discussion about who Whaley’s most successful draft pick was, Watkins and Lawson would very much be a part of that conversation. Which is really, really sad.

Tremendous athletic ability. The way he approaches a play after it is over cannot be taught!
