This week we have eight games that will affect the top of AFC conference standings. Five interconference games and three intraconference games. The Steelers travel to Minnesota to take on the Vikings for Thursday Night Football to kick things off this week.

Minnesota is favored by 3. Being Mike Zimmer's team is at home means that Vegas thinks the teams are about even. Minnesota has played 12 games this year, and 11 of them have been decided by one score. Five of those games decided on the very last play. This Vikings team is something of an enigma. Are they bad enough that Mike Zimmer gets fired if they lose tonight? Might they be the team no one wants to face should they make the playoffs, or are they both.

Because of their tie against the Detroit Lions, Pittsburgh finds themselves a half-game behind the Bills for the seventh seed and half a game up on the ninth-seeded Colts. Tomlin's gang beat the Ravens last week in a close game where they won because the Ravens elected to try and win the game with a two-point conversion at the end instead of kicking the x-tra point to tie and force overtime. The game is out-of-conference and thus not one of the top tie-breakers for conference seeding. However, with both the Ravens and Bengals ahead of them and the Browns a half-game back, the Steelers must win this game to keep alive their chances of winning the division, not to mention securing a wild card spot.

All three intraconference games play Sunday @ 1 pm Est. The Ravens travel to Cleveland to take on the Browns, the Jaguars venture into Nissan Stadium in Nashville to play the Titans and the Raiders head east to face the Chiefs in Kansas City.

The Ravens have not played very well of late while getting an 'ugly' win against the Browns in Baltimore two weeks ago, where they held the Browns to 40 yards rushing. After their bye week and playing what amounts to back-to-back games against Harbaugh's team, Cleveland hopes to have healed up some of their injuries and become a more consistent football team. Win, and they pull themselves to within a game of the division lead. Their current conference position of 11th is not looking too good. Due to their lousy 3-5 conference record, the Browns will need some help over the weeks ahead if they have any hopes of moving up and becoming a wild card team. The Ravens are looking to right their game.

The Jaguars got blown out at home in week 5, but the Titans had Henry back then, and while they are coming off their bye, they are in a bit of a funk right now, having lost their last two games. With the Colts just a game back in the win column, Tennessee must take care of business this weekend.

In the only other intraconference game of the week, we find the resurgent Chiefs leading their division by two games over the fading Raiders. Andy Reid has his team playing much better after that mid-season funk they found themselves in. And while they are not as good as they were in the last two years, they are perhaps better suited to the adjustments defenses have made against them. As for Las Vegas, they started the season 4-2 but are 1-4 in their last five games and must win here to try and turn things around. Currently, two games back in the division and sitting in the tenth seeded position within the conference, the Raiders have to win this matchup if they are to have any hopes of seeing the post-season from anywhere but their couches.

The rest of the interconference games see the Lions taking on the Broncos in Denver. The G-Men are heading west into So-Fi Stadium to play the Chargers. The 49ers are coming across the country to Cincinnati playing the Bengals, and of course, our beloved Buffalo Bills are heading down to Tampa Bay to take on Tom Brady and the Buccaneers.

Watching the highly touted Najee Harris run makes me more apt to blame our OL/scheme than our RBs.  Because Harris’ results look just like 26 and 20.

I think our Oline/scheme accounts for the vast majority of our run problems.  Our guys may not be the best in the league, but I'm coming around to believing they are sufficient if they had a line that could block and open up running lanes, as well as an OC who could see soft spots in the opposing D.
