The Athletic giving Harry some well deserved love. Rousseau and Edmunds get high marks as well within the article. Hopefully our front seven can bring it this weekend.

Young Bills defensive draft picks help lead the way over the Panthers: All-22 film review

...Which individual performances stood out against the Panthers? Here are five takeaways from the All-22.

1. Harrison Phillips rewards Bills’ trust

For the first time this season, defensive tackle Harrison Phillips started a game ahead of Star Lotulelei, which was a slight surprise in itself. With Phillips getting 44 snaps to Lotulelei’s 22, the disparity of time on the field was an even bigger surprise given how the Bills have used the duo in all their time together. Given some opportunities because of Lotulelei’s absences, Phillips has come into his own. And the film backed up the belief the Bills showed in Phillips on Sunday. In a matchup that, on paper, he should have dominated, the film showed that Phillips delivered his best game of the season against the Panthers.

Phillips worked against the interior trio of left guard Michael Jordan, center Pat Elflein and right guard John Miller. The Panthers routinely tried to get two blockers on Phillips in their run-heavy approach, and Phillips did an outstanding job of holding his ground all game long to gunk up the middle of the line. He also knifed through some double teams to plug the running lane, either by redirecting the runner to other teammates or making the tackle himself.

In a one-on-one setting, Phillips kept his arms extended and disengaged just as the runner was heading to the hole, and Phillips was there to make the play. He even overcompensated for some regrettable reps by teammates when the Panthers had them blocked pretty well to the second level, and Phillips’ individual efforts led to a stop for a minimal gain. When given a one-on-one chance from the three-technique spot, he also supplied some pressure as a pass rusher.

If this were just a one-game flash for Phillips, you’d want to see more to see if it’s sustainable given some of his struggles throughout his career. However, this is now more than just a trend for the fourth-year defensive tackle. Over the last four games, Phillips has had the second-highest grade (3.25 GPA) of any defender on the roster, trailing only strong safety Jordan Poyer (3.42). He was one of the best players on the field against the Panthers, is playing the best football of his career and should continue to be a focal point of the Bills defense in thwarting the physical, run-heavy Patriots on Sunday. ...
