College Football Off Season Transfer Portal

Or as they call it in the NFL, "free agency", except everyone in college is on a one-year deal with no tags.

It has really exploded this year and the implications are huge, especially for these teams that have a coaching change.  It sure sounds like OU has been decimated following Riley's exit to USC.  And I'm pretty sure that Notre Dame moved so quickly to elevate Freeman to avoid a similar fate.  While his first game on the sideline was a bit concerning, he's certainly off to a good start on the roster given the lack of defections and the just announced poaching of All-American safety Brandon Joseph from Northwestern.

I don't really have a problem with the Transfer Portal.

So long as it stays limited to a one time and the student athlete must meet academic requirements.

And I can't really fault the players wanting to leave Oklahoma after Riley abandoned them.  He recruited those kids promising the world, and then he leaves for greener pastures

I agree with this....no issue with kids being able to pick up and move if the situation isn't right for them, and especially once a coach bails.  But it should be limited to a one time thing.
