Change the OT Rules in the Playoffs?

Lots if chatter on the OT rules should be changed during the playoffs. I disagree, the rules are what they are. If the Bills had won that coin toss, they'd be hosting the AFC championship game.

However, tough to disagree with this:

Overtime rules are pathetic. Whats fair about losing the game on a coin toss? Whomever won the toss was going to win. 3rd grader could come up with better rules. Seriously.

Absolutely we argued the same thing. But if Dee Ford doesn’t line up offside in regulation, Sorensen interception of Brady would have counted and we would have won. That was a long, cold walk out of the stadium that night.

Each team getting an equal amount of possessions until the tie is broken. In other words Bills would get a chance to score a TD. If not, they lost fairly IMO.

The best playoff game ever was ruined with a win by coin-toss.  Each team deserves a chance to win in ot.  The NFL needs to change the ot rules to permit both an opportunity.

If thats what it takes, but what makes you think both teams keep scoring TD's? Someone going to make a mistake. Scores like that would never happen. Hockey shootout is set up to keep it fair in OT. NFL needs to do the same by way of equal opportunity IMO.

Each team gets the ball once in OT.  Coin toss only determines who gets the ball first.  In last night's context, KC gets the ball first and scores.  Our turn, we get the ball via kickoff like normal.  If we score and tie it back up, KC gets the ball.  However, from this point on, whoever scores first (TD or FG) wins.  Sooo simple, yet the NFL effs it up.
