Maybe Klein will think twice the next time he wants to be an anonymous source for a Tyler Dunne article.

Wait what?

Klein is a guy who was paid a starting salary, though never started.  Not sure why he was brought here, other than being a former Panther.

Arm of Harm

Brandon Beane must have been sleep deprived/not 100% there. Clearly he remembered that he had to release a highly paid LB to help get below the cap. But equally clearly he forgot which particular highly paid LB he was supposed to release! 😮

he was signed at beginning of free agency to be the starter, because at that time it was unlikley they would re-sign Milano

The other highly paid linebacker does not give cap savings if released

If they release Edmunds they don’t got cap relief?

I’m guessing he may have been slotted as an OLB in a 4-3 alignment, but they rarely went 4-3.

I’m not a fan of overpaying vet players to mentor younger guys.  Coaches should take on more of a role in developing younger guys, not rely on vet layers.

Coaches coach, players play.  There's a reason Klein is being thanked by his younger teammates on social media.  Every position room needs a guy who has been around and won.  It's inarguable.

Beane knows how to build a winning program and everyone is going to overpay free agents now and again.  It's the business.

Klein was a key contributor when the BILLS won in NE late in the season when they finally went 43.  If the team had won the SB (as they should have) that game would have correctly been lauded as the season's turning point.

As it is with the DL - the problem isn't the players or the GM.  It's 100% the coaches not finishing the cake with with these best ingredients in the NFL.

Totally agree that the coaches did less with more, they had enough to win.

I think Klein was under utilized, as well as incorrectly utilized when he did play by forcing him in coverage when that clearly wasn’t his strength.  Scheme shouldn’t be more important than player strength.
