A more obscure one I love, but it hasn't aired in many years I'm sure, is John Wayne and the Cowboys.

One of the best movies for repeat viewing is The Truman Show. It wasn't really one of my all time favorites the 1st few times I watched it, but I've probably seen it over 2 dozen times and it never gets old.

Is that movie the one where Jim Carrey tries to drive out of town and they keep throwing obstacles in his path, like baby strollers and garbage trucks, etc.?

That's how I feel driving through Brooklyn every day.

I usually don't like to watch movies a 2nd time because knowing the ending takes something away from the experience.
I'll put a couple Clint Eastwood flicks out there that I enjoy watching disirregardless of my pre-disposition:
The Outlaw Josey Wales
Gran Torino

I find things in the seta and backgrounds that keep the interest.  The way lines are delivered, etc.

One example is in The Godfather when Clemenza was cooking sauce and I must have seen that show a dozen times and maybe the thirteenth time I saw in the background there's an old coffee can at the side of the sink. And I know there's a bunch of bacon fat and cooking grease in that can.  Another scene was around Christmastime and there were a bunch of cards tacked to the wall in the parlor.  It took me a long time to notice these things.

I took a few acting classes in college so I try to catch as many props etc on the 1st viewing. As as I get older that ability has definitely waned. That said I can't say many times I re-watched The Sixth Sense looking for clues that I missed when that movie initially came out.

Never saw that movie.

On the other hand, I figured out the twist in the Sixth Sense within the first five minutes.  It was searingly obvious to me.

But if you didn't figure it out early, the clues were there.  Watch closely how no one really interacts with Bruce Willis's character for the entire movie except for Haley Joe Osmet's character.  There was one scene where Wills's character is at dinner with his wife, he's talking to her, and she's completely ignoring him.  Looks like a badly dysfunctional relationship, until you view it in hindsight and realize...

It was a very well-done movie, very well directed.  The clues were all there, but very subtle.

I love movies like that where the second time you watch it you now realize what was actually happening and how in certain scenes. Two quick ones that come to mind right away are the matrix and the prestige.

Is it wrong that I now have Creeping Death singing in my head?

Yep, liked that until I learned Spacey was a pedophile. Now I  avoid his films.

The first thing I ever saw from that movie was the reveal. I happened to come home from work while my college roommate was watching it. So I never got that “oh, that’s what that was” feel unfortunately.

I need to go back and watch it again though. It’s been a long time. I’ve seen it showing up on free tv lately too.

Lots of my favorites already mentioned;

Godfather, Goodfellas, Casino, Great Escape, The Natural.

Orhers:

Apollo 13 - I still get nervous during the blackout.

Pulp Fiction

Terminator

Also, Dances with Wolves, but that one I need to see it from the start.

City Slickers.

Beyond the fact that there are a shitload of funny scenes, it really hit me after I left 40 years of grinding the suit-and-tie travel warrior businessman life, something I was sure I wanted out of life, only to realize I was wrong.

What I really wanted was to be back in the mountains, on a nice plot of land, with four beautiful seasons, and back to boots, jeans, snow, mud, rain, lakes, mountains and a handful of neighbors in a small town atmosphere.

Mitchie the Kid. I'm freaking Mitchie the Kid.

Great freaking movie.

Lots of good ones mentioned already. I'm a movie junkie so my tastes are all over the board. It's weird since I cut the cord in that I never "stumble" across movies anymore but have to seek them out on my own. Here are 10 (I think unnamed so far) that I often revisit:

Heat

Rocky

Last Samurai

Shawshank Redemption

The Abyss
True Lies

Out of Sight

Kiss Kiss Bang Bang

Hot Fuzz
Almost Famous

+ Many more.

Not sure I’ve ever made it to the end of True Lies, but the first 20 minutes are great, I’ve probably seen it a dozen times.

IMO, True Lies is probably Arnold's best movie. He just worked in it. And Jamie Lee Curtis was fabulous as the ditzy yet smart wife who didn't feel she was attractive anymore (and why the whole movie worked as it did). I also thought Tom Arnold was a great side-kick and was surprised he didn't make more movies as a second banana.

You should at least get to the end of the movie with Tia Carrera and Jamie Lee Curtis fighting in the back of a limo (back when they were both really hot) while the limo is about to drive off a bridge into the ocean with Arnold overhead hanging from a helicopter being flown by Tom Arnold.

One of the great edge-of-your seat rescue scenes.
