What teams have a legit chance of winning Super Bowl LVII 2023?

What's crazy is that the AFC is the strongest it's been in a decade, maybe more. There are 8, maybe 9, teams with legit title hopes just from within the conference. And even with all that historic talent in conference, the Bills have the best roster and it's not even really close.

Going to be a wild year.

I think that is a question to ask... how many teams have a legit chance of winning the Super Bowl, and which teams would those be?

My top 10 list: (in no order)

Buffalo

KC

Denver

LA Chargers

Oakland

Green Bay

LA Rams

Tampa Bay

Baltimore

Cleveland* (obvious question mark here)

70% from the AFC. You could make a case for Philly and SF to take Cleveland's spot if Watson is done for a full season.

According to the OBF DAB POMA KGFEPWS(M), from the AFC that would be

Ravens

Bengals

Browns

Bills

Titans

Texans

Chiefs

Chargers

(Klein-Gordon Field Estimated Probability of Winning Superbowl (Measurable))

I disagree with Baltimore and especially Cleveland.

I would swap those two out for Cincinnati and Tennessee. Still 70% AFC.

LOL Oakland. You are old and set in your ways... as am I. 🙂

Since I started watching football, I will always bet on Oakland getting in Oakland's way...

...whether they're in Oakland, LA, or Vegas.

Ah! The Bengals was an oversight. They should definitely be on there.

New thread with this question? I can break these replies off.

Probably not a bad idea to start a Superbowl LVII thread to track Superbowl favorites (which will change as the season progresses) and discussion throughout the season.

Don't bother starting an OBF DAB POMA thread - if the need arises, I'll start it myself.

It's a work in progress, the OBF DAB POMA KGFEPWS(M).

Still better than PFF, though.

I'd say they have a top-7 chance of getting to the Superbowl, just for being likely to be the last team standing in the wreckage of the NFC East.

If they win the NFC East you think they are beating and advancing against whatever teams win the NFCS, NFCW, and NFCN?

No...but just winning the NFC East puts them in the playoffs, which alone gives them a 1 in 7 chance of getting there.

These six for sure + Ravens.  They will be a handful, even with Jackson's shortcomings.

Others:

Titans - Why is everyone down on them?  Is Brown that big a difference?

Browns - If Watson only gets 8-10 games and comes back looking like his old self, it's definitely possible.

The rest:

Packers?  I've given up on Rodgers in January

Raiders?  Not sold.  Hard to see that team putting together 3-4 games in a row against top competition.

Broncos?  Won't survive that division, Russ or no.

49ers?  Not with essentially a rookie QB.

Titans: Not down on them.  I just don't think they're in the same class as the Bills, Chargers, Chiefs, and Bengals

Browns: With or without Watson, they're the third best team in their division

Raiders & Broncos competing for third in their division

Packers/49ers/rest of NFC is a big dropoff from Tampa and the Rams
