Ron DeSantis's Unusual Solution To The Teacher Shortage Has Twitter In A Tizzy (msn.com)

One critic retorted, "We want qualified, certified, well educated teachers. If a vet meets that basic criteria, then great. But not until then."

Teaching Establishment can't expect far left "reimagining", if the teachers have not been proipoerly indoctrinated

Lowering standards for teachers is "unfortunate," Education secretary says (msn.com)

Teachers should also have a voice in the "process of reopening and reimagining our schools," Cardona said.

Citizens gathered in opposition to DeSantis rally (msn.com)

With the speech carrying the theme of education, people like Angela Wynn, the co-founder of a nonprofit called Support Our Schools, said DeSantis’ viewpoint on censoring the type of books kids can read is an infringement on their education.

“We send our kids to school to learn what society need them to learn, not what parents want them to learn,” said Wynn.

Unlike Wynn, Allen doesn’t like the idea of having her child learn about ideology and then having those discussions after the fact.

swing voters?

sound like pretty entrenched progressives

Swing voters in Florida have serious reservations about Ron DeSantis and Marco Rubio: analysts (msn.com)

According to some voters who were asked about the two GOP lawmakers, they have some work to do if they hope to make inroads with voters who vote the candidate and not the party.

In the case of DeSantis, some of the comments about him contained the words, "power-hungry,” “petty,” “an opportunist,” “egotistical,” “anti-abortion,” and a “bull in a china shop.”

Also, I don’t agree with how he handled the Covid pandemic, like restricting local municipalities, not allowing them to enforce mask mandates and things like that. I think that was highly inappropriate," B.J. explained.

“I disagree with DeSantis on quite a few things . . . It’s purely just his stance on things. [I’m troubled that he’s] anti-abortion, primarily, anti-transgender—more the social issues," 27-year-old Lance from Orlando added.

Non-prosecution of low-level offenses dropped in Tampa (msn.com)

Susan Lopez who was appointed as state attorney for the Tampa area after DeSantis removed Andrew Warren from office told her staff last week that she is rescinding the practice.

“By unilaterally stating you are not going to prosecute, you are failing to hold individuals accountable for their actions, which only empowers them to commit additional crimes,” Chronister wrote in a letter to Warren earlier this year.

Lopez said in a statement last week that her office “will evaluate every case law enforcement sends us and make a decision about whether to prosecute. Some cases will go forward. Some will not.”

Florida governor Ron DeSantis attacks media in ‘Top Gun’ campaign ad (msn.com)

“The rules of engagement are as follows: number one – don’t fire unless fired upon, but when they fire, you fire back with overwhelming force,” DeSantis says in the video. “Number two – never ever back down from a fight. Number three – don’t accept their narrative.”

Ron DeSantis Is Campaigning For Everything, Everywhere, All at Once (msn.com)

Last Friday night, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis made a bold pitch for re-election to the voters of Pennsylvania. A couple hours later, he took the same stump to Ohio. Two days after that, on Sunday, he flew back to his home state – the only one in which he is currently running for election – to barnstorm for a slate of 30 different school board officials

DeSantis’ tour ahead of the 2022 midterms indicates he’s more than happy to step up, raising his profile for a bid at, well, something big in 2024. MAGA diehards see DeSantis largely as an understudy to Trump, ready to fall into place as an easy VP pick if and when Trump mounts his 2024 campaign in earnest. But if Trump is indisposed – either due to legal troubles, health issues, or some other unforeseen fall from grace – DeSantis seems ready to take over the party himself.

DeSantis Seeks Crushing Victory in November With Eye Toward 2024 (msn.com)

DeSantis, 43, hasn’t said he plans to run in 2024, but he will be seeking a dominant performance to maintain his status in polls as GOP voters’ preferred standard-bearer should former President Donald Trump decide against making a third White House bid. The election is also an opportunity for DeSantis to ward off other potential challengers.

A blowout in the Nov. 8 general election would give the governor the bounce he needs to launch a presidential campaign

“Don’t let anyone tell you it’s going to be easy over the next two-and-a-half months. They’re going to throw everything they have at us,” DeSantis said. “We’re not just running against a political party or candidate. We’re also running against national corporate media who’s going to do whatever they can to derail Florida’s progress.”

Florida's 24h in cost of living in 2022.  :classic_laugh:

"Best States to Work" is entirely dependent on which list you choose.  It's so random, it may as well be an OBF DAB POMA stat.

It's like that "Florida Banned Book" thing that everyone was pushing last week.  It was just a blatant lie, but everyone just kept pushing it. Everyone is lying, no one is holding them accountable, and down into the shithole we go.

Not only did DeSantis inkoke Fauci's race (Elf) while speaking ill of Fauci (something only allowed when disparaging Whites), DeSantis also assumed Fauci's gender.

And I have a funny feeling that in the not so distant future Amazon will reveal to the world the existence of transgender elves.
