Derek Carr should get released if Carr plays the game properly

https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2023/01/12/woody-johnson-jets-are-ready-to-spend-big-if-theres-a-veteran-qb-we-need/

Johnson told reporters today that if Jets General Manager Joe Douglas and head coach Robert Saleh tell him there’s a veteran quarterback they need, Johnson will “absolutely” be ready to spend what it takes to get him.

will Lamar be on the move in 2023?

if the writing is on the wall, probably makes sense to avoid a more serious injury that would hinder that move.

what would you advise Lamar, seeing he has no agent

https://www.outkick.com/fair-to-question-if-lamar-jackson-missing-playoff-game-is-related-to-contract-profootballdoc/

At Sports Injury Central, we had Jackson’s health at a suboptimal 74 indicating he could play but would not be completely explosive on the ground. However, it seems fair to question why he hasn’t tried to practice or see what he can do given the importance of the game and the timeline.

No question Jackson is not 100% as he indicated.

A grade 2 PCL sprain always leaves some residual laxity and Lamar Jackson will have to learn to play with this unless he wants to have major ligament reconstruction surgery. Some instability is a hallmark of a PCL sprain, and this feeling of being “unstable” is common, yet players rehab to play through it.

another guy that should be moved, but can't because of the albatross contract

https://www.outkick.com/arizona-cardinals-kyler-murray-monster-claim/

Previously, a report came out that people within the organization were tired of dealing with the QB’s attitude.

“It was like they created a monster,” an unnamed Cardinals veteran told Michael Silver. The unnamed player claimed once Kyler got paid, he didn’t seem eager to do the things that are expected out of franchise QBs, including studying the game plan.

pretty rich having Sammy 'Watkins call you out for not playing thru injury

https://www.outkick.com/sammy-watkins-calls-out-lamar-jackson-ahead-of-wild-card-game/

Is Lamar Jackson unable to play or does he simply not want to? Wide receiver Sammy Watkins seems to think it’s the latter.

“In this league, everybody is pretty much banged up, hurt,” Watkins said. “I don’t want to speak for him and his situation and whatever he’s going through with the contracts. I don’t know what world he’s in. But for me, you got a chance to do something special. We all know with Lamar Jackson out there, this team is really freaking good, and special things can happen. He can will this team to a Super Bowl. I don’t think he’s thinking about it that way.”

Never a good thing when a wide receiver implies his quarterback isn’t invested in the team’s success.

Tua is expected back:

Sources: Tua Tagovailoa expected back as Dolphins' starter in 2023

Tua Tagovailoa is expected to return as the Miami Dolphins' starting quarterback for the 2023 season, league sources told ESPN.

Should the seventh-seeded Dolphins upset the Buffalo Bills on Sunday, Tagovailoa could potentially be cleared from the concussion protocol and work his way back to the field this postseason.

But regardless of what happens in Sunday's wild-card game in Buffalo or throughout Miami's postseason, the Dolphins have been pleased with Tagovailoa's development this season under first-year coach Mike McDaniel, according to sources.

Medical professionals also are confident that Tagovailoa should be able to resume his NFL career next season, if not sooner, sources said.

Well... there goes that mega contract he was hoping for.

And there goes the mega trade the Ravens wanted

Best case for both parties is a Franchise Tag.

trade him for multiple picks

then trade less picks for Fields to run the same offense

Chicago gets to draft a real QB

Rumor Mill. I’d like to know the rumor on the number of years…

If it's $133M then it's only 3 years worth of guaranteed money.  Doesn't matter after that.
