Pozole

Beef and barley

Minestrone

I would have said clam chowder, but we belong to a club that makes it for various village festivals. We make it in two gallon batches from quahogs (hard shell clams) that we take up from the shoreline. We’ve done so much of it that I’m a little put off at the mo. Haven’t gone out clamming in months now although it’s a year-round sport here. The limit is a full peck of quahogs per week. You can only shellfish on Sunday, Wednesday, and Saturday.

Oyster season just opened on the 4th. But we didn’t go out on opening day because it’s a madhouse. Legal limit on oysters is 1/2 peck per week.
