IF he is willing to do something about his contract, like get the Cards to pay much of it or restructure. Gotta trust Beane on this one. Glad he held his water and didn’t jump for an unattractive deal.

Same. D-Hop is as much a legacy name as he is a productive player at this point in his career. Happy Buffalo did not break the bank for him or OBJ. I think Beaner is a bit gun shy on ageing vets after Von Miller last year. The team need to start clearing cap and getting younger. Guys like Poyer, Hyde, Von Miller are getting up there and already carry void years and heavy cap implications. D-Hop would add to that situation. Like it or not.

Where this makes a little sense for me is Davis is done after this year and will likely get paid very well, so keeping him won't be cheap.  If the Bills can get Hopkins for more than this year with a '23 friendly deal, it might work but then Davis is likely gone next year.  Is a championship worth it?  Hell ya.

We're on the same page.  I'm still in the "Fantasy Football mode" mentally where this is concerned but the reality is we're probably not getting him unless he's willing to play for almost nothing this season.
