Why fire the GM but keep Doug at this point? Surely the new GM will want to hire his own coach.

It's not going to be easy to hire someone right now with all that is going on between COVID and more.  Who would want to go to Jacksonville, also?

I'd bet they go the remainder of the season without a GM.

Hire the GM, let the GM hire the coach.

Marrone's got to be a dead man walking, then.  So will quit before he's fired again?

He might quit. YOU NEVER KNOW

Right, but why keep Doug as a lame duck through the end of the season?

Why taint one of the assistant coaches with the stank of 1-15?  Let St Dougie soak it all up

Can't wait until Marrone is canned...hopefully that's his last HC position

cant see anyone touching him or Coughlin.....Coughlin ruined that team more than Doug.

Doug at least has tried to evolve and revert back to HIS personality, and not be Belichick V2

Coughlin's age alone should be a reason that he goes into permanent retirement.  I've seen many guys go into their 70's thinking that they will be every bit as productive as they were in their 50's and 60's but that very seldom happens.  Also, to play the tough guy disciplinarian you have to physically be able to to intimidate the person across the desk or the locker from you which is hard to do with flabby arms and chin.  I like Tom but his time has passed.

I can see the interview......

Q:  Who would you consider as your HC?

A:  We have several exceptional candidates, none named Bill.

Q: How do you feel about BO'Bs though?

A: I think we're done here.
