All good organizations rely on good people up and down the chain of command. Of course the top guys are the most important, but losing Schoen or Daboll will still be a loss. Yup, exactly. People will move on, so promoting from within is preferable if you have the bench. I’m about to promote the guy I hired three years ago to Director, but I’ve made sure we’re developing people on his staff that can fill his role in the future if necessary.
