Jets QB Zach Wilson suffers knee injury in blowout loss to Patriots, will undergo MRI on Monday

Zach Wilson suffered a knee injury early in the second quarter of New York's 54-13 loss to the Patriots and did not return to the game.

Wilson will undergo an MRI on his knee Monday, Jets coach Robert Saleh told reporters after the defeat, adding that the team "initially" feels good about the severity of Wilson's injury.

NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported the initial belief is that Wilson suffered an injury to his PCL. The QB will likely miss time, but Monday's tests will determine how long.

Panthers bench Sam Darnold in loss to Giants; HC Matt Rhule says QB will start next week

</snip>

"Just felt like we needed some sort of a spark," head coach Matt Rhule said of the decision to sit Darnold. "Not that anything was necessarily him, I think it was all of them. Hoping P.J. would go out there and make a run or do something to kind of get us going. Sam will be our quarterback next week, he'll be our quarterback moving forward."

Fields is just horrible. Someone should tell him his legs alone aren’t going to carry him yet alone the Bears. His first instinct is to take off running. His second is to just lob the ball up in desperation. Even Bears fans must think this is unwatchable.

Kyle Shanahan on whether Jimmy Garoppolo will remain 49ers' starting QB: 'I would guess so'

</snip>

Despite the latest struggles from quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo, coach Kyle Shanahan wasn't ready immediately after the game to consider a quarterback change for Week 8 versus Chicago.

"I would guess so," Shanahan said when asked if Jimmy G would remain the starter. "I'm going to watch this tape and see if guys are healthy first of all. I don't even know where our guys are at. It was good for Jimmy to be able to get healthy enough to play in this game today."

Garoppolo finished 16-of-27 passing for 181 yards, one TD and two interceptions for a 60.9 passer rating. It's Garoppolo's third straight game with at least one interception.

BUT he throws a great ball out of the end zone. It was all the rave in the preseason.

"Doesn't matter how bad the team around him is, rookie QBs should play."

Welcome to why you don't coach anymore and never successfully developed a young QB.

Tell him more. He's all ears. :classic_ninja:

Imagine the K-Gun in this era, with these rules.

The down side of that is: imagine the Bruce Smith era with these rules.
