As PFT explained, he needed to clear waivers.  If they claimed him on waivers prior to today, he would have been ineligible to play.    The question that needs to be asked is if he's a better PS option than Freeman.

 

I think the obvious answer is Yes.

He'd be a distraction this week, because there's no way he'd be ready for Sunday.   It will be interesting if they would bring him in after winning Sunday's game.
