Bills games under the lights

Tuesday night's game, almost right away, reminded me of a MNF game we played at Pittsburgh in '93. After a smoking-hot start to the season, we suddenly couldn't do anything right that night. We dropped pass after pass. We couldn't tackle worth a damn. We lost 23-0. (IIRC, it worked out pretty well for us that year. 😉 )
 

I love the fact that we get national attention during primetime. I hate the fact that -- more often than not -- we get humiliated in front of a national audience when we play under the lights. Paper covers rock, so I vote "hate." No night games till the SB, please!

I was always wary of a "national" game,

 

but last years trouncing of the Cowboys on Thanksgiving cured me of that.

I like the 4 o'clock games... national exposure (ok, ok, not 100% the focus) but not late night.  But, because evening games means the Bills are relevant and a good team, I'll live with the night time national exposure.

The Titans game sucked and I hate to say it, but it wasn't unexpected. Look, they had 2 weeks to prepare while the Bills had been in limbo for days, not knowing if they were playing TN on Tues or the Chiefs on Thurs. We're a young team and you have to agree that played on their psychi quite a bit.

 

That said, we've been limited for primetime games, but most of them we've had were against better teams. The Titans wasn't originally a primetime game, but the one we have coming up arguably is, and the last coupe against a Brady led NE certainly were.

I love the excitement and ability to watch on the big screen......perhaps a bit less enthused that the Bills always seem to lay an egg.

Enjoy them for ease of out of area viewing and not consuming Sunday daylight hours.  If I'm going to the game though, love Sunday games.

I felt it was expected simply because we were drinking our own koolaid.  We went from being a potential but not guaranteed playoff with a qb with no accuracy to a super bowl contender with a qb who is the mvp candidate.

 

Pretty sure we needed a reminder of where we came from.

Give me 16 weeks of 4 PM starts! Get stuff done during the day..be they chores, errands, or golf. Watch the end of the late games. Still have dinner at normal time!

 

Best of all, i don't start drinking beers till 4..instead of 1...and when i start, i don't stop till bedtime! Monday is a much better day after 4PM games, and dont even get me started on primetime games.

 

the 5PM on Monday ..i can live with that too. Course is closed on Mondays, but wife is on mini vaca in Florida..so the fellas coming over for some Q and cards starting at 2...

I get the drinking part... I'm a bit of a bore in my seasoned years (62) and I quit drinking so early for 1 o'clock games, and don't the 4:00 games until half time. But now the night time games are a different story as will this week 5 o'clock game!

I love them, and think more fans would as well if we performed better than we have been. Especially at the home games, those ones are electric.

 

I guess the answer is when we win, it feels better. When we lose, it feels worse. I still say love though, as we will have more of these coming up and I expect them to lose less and win more. Plus, usually having more primetime games means we are getting some recognition from the NFL as being entertaining.

uggh.  I went to that game.  Had to listen to awful Stillers fans yap about how Jim Kelly really wanted to be a Stiller all damn night.

Makes for a very long day when we play at home for late games.  
 

long tailgate and long getting out after the game.  Still wait 2 hours after the game for traffic to die down before we head back to the Hotel.
