I get what you're saying, but you gotta put things in context: Blunderbuss with an eyepatch vs AR15 with a holographic sight

RochesterRob
At the time it had already happened. In terms of wanting to meet somebody living it was Star Trek's James Doohan during the mid-1980's and he came to Ithaca, NY while I was at Cornell. Up to that point in time I really did want to meet him more than anybody else that I could think of. Best of all it was outside of a rushed convention setting. I wished that I could have spent more time but I enjoyed the 10 minutes I did get to visit him with. He talked about how he needed to do work on his garage. His disappointment that his career did not reach much past Star Trek. He was in negotiations to appear in The Voyage Home and from his perspective it was anything but a given that he would appear. That in the first season of the television show that he was never sure he would appear from one episode to the next. No Shatner beefing at least then. With him done I guess next it would have been Ronald Reagan while living. If I could go back in time I would love to meet Theodore Roosevelt while he was POTUS.
devnull
I have a friend who kinda met Bill Murray. He was in a restaurant when Murray stole a fry off his plate. Murray then said he didn't care who my friend told about it, because nobody would believe him
mead107
Thought you all might like this. My new philosophy. SOME THINGS TO PONDER AS WE AGE The inventor of the treadmill died at the age of 54 The inventor of gymnastics died at the age of 57 The world bodybuilding champion died at the age of 41 The best soccer player in the world, Maradona, died at the age of 60 And then.. KFC inventor died at 94 Inventor of Nutella brand died at the age of 88 Cigarette maker Winston died at the age of 102 The inventor of opium died at the age of 116 - in an earthquake Hennessy cognac, Irish inventor, died at 98 How did doctors come to the conclusion that exercise prolongs life? The rabbit is always jumping, but it lives for only 2 years. The turtle that doesn't exercise at all, lives 400 years. So …Have a drink ...Take a nap ... And when you wake up, have bacon and eggs! Happy New Year. 2 1
Robs House
I would have said Rush Limbaugh but since that's no longer an option I might opt for Bill Maher. He and I tend to lean in opposite directions politically, but we still have an awful lot of common ground philosophically, which I think would make for an interesting conversation.
