For the past year and half or so I've heard from multiple people who know way more than I do about these sorts of things that Xi was going to wait until we were embroiled in both Europe and the ME before moving on Taiwan. That both Russia and China were working to make that happen.

 

If that is Xi's plan, then we're pretty close to that tipping point.

On the bright side, I'm old enough to not have to worry about being drafted and live close enough to the Atlantic Fleet so I might only see a brief flash before...

It might be too late for Xi.

It also might be why the US has half-assed their responses in Europe and the ME.
