The reality of the history of every government pretty much ever is evidence that you are wrong. Governments are created by the powerful to protect their interests from the weak. This is true of the Constitutional government of the United States as well. The US government was created to pillage the wealth of the common man in order to settle the private debts of the wealthiest land owners in the United States. Our current system is an extension of this. The Constitution was either chartered to intentionally permit exactly the situation we see ourselves in today, or it was woefully unable to prevent it. I strongly agree with pretty much everything in your post, except the part about me being wrong. 🙂 In the past, the government existed to serve the interests of the ruling class, such as the king, the nobility, or (in the case of America's founding) plutocrats and other highly influential people. The American Revolution was very much top down, and as you pointed out served to benefit the powerful. However, there are three marked differences between the misbehavior of the past and what we're seeing now. 1) Prior to the 20th century, it was unheard-of for a government to deliberately adopt immigration policies which would result in the replacement of its own people. America did not join in the Great Replacement until 1965. 2) The rich and powerful have always been able to get away with crimes. But, a government which wants to disarm its own people, defund the police, eliminate cash bail, and lighten or eliminate punishments for many common criminals, is something new. 3) In the past, a nation's ruling class typically cared about the long-term futures of the nations they ruled. That is clearly not the case now, with this nation's ruling class.
