Nice to see they can now be honest about the position, now that a wasted prior #1 (and the trade cost) can be memory holed.

So… the good news…

After a rewatch, specifically focused on OL play, Spencer Brown was actually very good last night, outside of getting badly beaten once; given that the majority of his snaps were against Watt.

With your OL focus would you say that having O'Cyrus next to him helped?

I would say that they could well make up the right side our line for the next five years.

They’ll have to grow together.

What is the NFL third quarterback rule?

● For a third, emergency quarterback to enter action on game day, he must be on the active 53-man roster. The player can't be on the practice squad.
● However, that quarterback does not have to be among the 47 or 48 players declared active for that game. If a club suits up eight offensive linemen, they only have to declare five inactives.
● If a club has two quarterbacks injured and/or disqualified in a game, the emergency quarterback can enter play.
● If either of the injured quarterbacks is cleared by the medical staff to return to play, the emergency third quarterback must be removed from the game.
● This is to prevent a situation such as the 49ers playoff game last year when San Francisco lost both of their healthy quarterbacks and there was no emergency rule in place.

</snip>

● Last season, teams could have three quarterbacks on their 53-man roster. But he would have had to be among the game-day actives to enter play in emergency. Now, they don't have to be.
