A friend of mine turned me on to my new favorite tequila called Grand Mayan.

He served it to me on the rocks with a couple of slices of jalapeno in the bottom of the glass, and now I spend my weekends with this bottle like a long-lost lover.

If you get a chance, buy a bottle of Kirkland Anejo, put tape over the label and put a blindfold on. Pour in a glass an compare to the high end stuff.   You’ll be surprised.

I had no idea, but shoulda known. My wife drinks their Prosecco, which may as well have the La Marca label on it, and their Chianti Classico rivals some of the best Chianti's I drank while in Italy. I am, by no means, a wine snob or connoisseur, but I drink a lot of Chianti and for $8, it's one of the best out there.

I'm up in the Adirondacks, so the good old Labatts Blue in the real tall neck bottles is readily available, it's a damn tasty beer.

I am a seasoned beer drinker, which is to say I drink beer every day. Stella is my go-to. I have tried some IPAs but I tend to drink at a certain speed and the higher alcohol content does not favor that approach. Not to mention, drinking IPAs for some people has become their new Pokemon game, and when the whole world gravitates like sheep to something, it's when I bow out.

That said, I recently was introduced to Bayern Brewing's Pilser. He's a German brewer who set up show across the border from me in Montana, and I am here to tell you it is one of the finest 'new' beers I have tried in some time. It's a true Bavarian Pils, and if you can find, by all means, get ye some quickly.

I've been drinking lighter brews almost exclusively lately.  Too many IPAs now are too heavy/hoppy and too high in alcohol content if I'm having 2 or 3.   There is almost no situation where I want a BAC of 9%+ in a beer.

My current go tos are:

Pils:  Trumer (Berkeley)

Lager:  Tremor California (Seismic Brew Co) -- just found this one and really like it.

Blonde Ale: Firestarter Walker 805

you should give the Sweetwater 420 Pale ale a try. Old school pale ale, no haze, no hop bomb...just a good solid tasting beer at 5.7%.

Go-to beers (I’m not much into exploration these days):

<snip>

Coors heavy

I’ve homebrewed but got away from it. Now that the weather is getting cooler, I might do a couple batches. Pale ales, light on the hops.

Wheat beer sucks.

During a Yellowstone episode I think I heard those referred to as "yellowjackets" in one episode*.
That's what I call them now.

Couldn't have felt worse, that's for sure.

My husband tries a regional beer wherever we travel. Anyone else do that? He's gotten some good one, but we don't ship them home like we ship home wine.
