Throw your eyes on Tommy Tremble. He’ll be available in the mid rounds, and would be a fantastic understudy to Ertz, and would immediately take on a major role in the offense.

Yup.  Dude is a hard ass, all-around baller.  Loved watching him play at ND.  Even if he didn't develop into a polished #1 TE, you could see solid contributions on special teams, in 2 TE sets, max power scheme, etc.

And his stats would have been better if ND didn't have a future first round pick at the same position.

They'd need to take him in the 3d to get him.

Remember that he’s only a redshirt sophomore. He is foregoing his junior and senior years where he would have been able to continue to learn how to read coverages, and establish himself as that starter.

He has four extremely important things that you can’t teach. He’s very bright, and he’s got a major nasty streak. He has soft hands, and catches away from his body, plucking the ball out of the air. He also runs a 4.6 40.

In a TE room with Ertz he’d learn to read the safeties, and find soft spots in coverage; and because of his ability in the run game he wouldn’t just be a guy taking up a roster spot while he learned. He’d get a lot of snaps.

I thought he was already a junior.  Definitely a learning curve in front of him but agreed he has all the core ingredients for future success.

And I love the nasty streak.  After watching us get pushed around by the Chiefs, we can't get enough of that in Buffalo.

Can we fit $12.7 under the cap and not hamper ourselves completely?

Zach Ertz trade rumors: Bills, Chargers among six most logical landing spots for Eagles tight end

...As the Eagles look to accelerate their transition to a new era and give Ertz a fresh start, where exactly could the former Super Bowl champion wind up? Compensation might not great considering the 30-year-old is fresh off an injury-riddled season and is due $12.7 million this year, but the suitors should be aplenty.

Here are the six most logical landing spots for the veteran tight end: ...

... Buffalo Bills

If we're taking bets, they might be the front-runners. They reportedly tried to sign Rob Gronkowski as a sidekick and/or upgrade of Dawson Knox. They're in search of another weapon for QB Josh Allen with John Brown out the door. And Ertz would likely welcome the chance to play for such an up-and-coming contender and quarterback. They also just sent backup TE Lee Smith to the Falcons, clearing the way for an addition. ...

Between that and his age he's not worth it. Phili screwed themselves.

Unless he would do a restructure he's not worth it.

In which Eagle's court is it, I ask? C'mon, Ben. Proofread. You're better than that.

Philly's got to be sweating now.  I don't see any takers with the asking price.  I'm also guessing nobody is taking him without a contract redo.
