I'm not a fan of the Okposo signing either.  Sometimes you have to accept that guys are done and that intangibles aren't nearly as meaningful as they're made out to be.  He had a good run and it was awesome that he had a better season last year than anyone expected but it's always better to get out one year too early than one too late.

Meant to add this yesterday, but Rousek got a 2 year deal yesterday.

 

1st year is a 2 way deal - $775k/$70k  (NHL/AHL salaries)

2nd year is a 1 way deal - $775k (regardless of where he plays).

It IS big news.  We know the Amerks will have at least ONE D-man who has a clue of how to pley on his side of his own blue line.  A skill which should NOT be underrated.

Sabres took Matt Savoie's LW from the Winnipeg Ice - Zach Benson with the 13th overall selection.

 

Very good pick.  Kid has mad skills.

 

Should also make it easier to keep Savoie in the WHL this year as the 2 can continue to develop chemisty together.
