Eagles had 8, 49ers had 7.

So…..the good teams NOT paying the franchise QB can spread the wealth and fill out the roster a little differently.

They had Hurts at #3, rookie contact.

The 49ers were an absolute marvel after all their QB disasters.

Chiefs had 5 on the list (Mahomes was #1)

Bengals had 3 (Burrow was #4)

The next QB was Herbert at 7 (Chargers have 3 players total on the list).

Trevor Lawrence was #8 (Jax have 3 players total on the list).

Other QBs listed:

12. Tua

15. Goff

21. Prescott

34. Geno

35. Brady

48. Daniel Jones

67. Lamar Jackson

77. Justin Fields

15 of the top 100 most valuable players on this list were quarterbacks, including 6 in the top 10. All six of those teams made the playoffs.

I’ll admit Hurts at #3 surprises me. Maybe he’ll change my mind on Sunday.

Unpopular opinion: Von Miller doesn't belong on the list.

Eight sacks, 21 tackles in 11 games.  Rousseau had 8 sacks and 37 tackles in 13 games.  Admittedly, Miller adds value as a mentor - Rousseau may not get 8 sacks without Miller on the team.  But they produced about equally...and is Miller's value as a mentor really so great that it adds that much above on-field production equivalent to Rousseau?

Matt Milano is also too low at 71.  I'm sure that's not an unpopular opinion.

Maybe, like Lamar Jackson, it is his absence that showed he was so valuable?

Miller does things on the field that don't show up on the stat sheet.  Perfect example was the play where he literally just collapsed the entire OLine in a short yardage situation.  I've watched a lot of football...and I have literally NEVER seen that before.

There are 32 teams in the NFL.  I can buy that there are 2 guys per team that are more valuable than Milano.  That seems about right.

I'd forgotten about that play.  That was just ridiculous.

My limited football knowledge tells me that the inconsistency of the offensive line and the important drops forced josh and Dorsey to switch up their approach.

Hopefully they can find a way to get more consistency from the offensive weapons.  Mahomes just throws it to kelce whenever he needs to. Josh needs that kind of outlet.

As we all surmised, it was a rough injury year for the Bills compared to the last five years:

games.jpg.8c50a5781a909d07b23bd9e1820b04be.jpg

Injury report: Bills' defense lost the fourth most games by starters to injury

</snip>

The total games lost by starters (59) was significantly more than their total from the previous year (36).

Buffalo had ranked among the top 10 least-injured teams in the NFL – according to games missed by starters – each of the previous five seasons under McDermott.

The Bills’ rankings among the least-injured teams the previous five years, starting with 2021: second, fifth, first, fourth and ninth.

</snip>

Six of the top seven teams that lost the fewest games to injury by starters had winning records.

The least-injured team was Kansas City, which lost just 20 games by starters. NFC champion Philadelphia and AFC finalist Cincinnati were tied for third at 31 games lost.

Their entire offense is built around Taylor who missed at least 6 of those games.  Their most effective defensive player and leader (Darius now Shaq Leonard) missed the entire year.

On the flipside, how deep are the 49ers?

I honestly don't know the answer to that question.  The only good team they played all year was the Chiefs and they got wrecked.
