The list was updated last week. There are still 18 of the 101 "best" free agents who have not signed with a team. I assume a lot of these guys will get picked up after the draft with teams that couldn't fill their holes.

Top 101 NFL free agents of 2023: Yannick Ngakoue, Shaquill Griffin among best available

I can't see Yannick Ngakoue without thinking of this...

I like this Floyd signing.  I wouldn't be surprised if that eliminates Hopkins, and I'm ok with that.

IMHO, the biggest issue with the Bills the last couple years has been the beef on O and D.  On O, that meant a lot of hero ball for Josh, no respect for the run game, and too many off script, out of rhythm play.  On defense, it mattered against teams that could either run well or teams that had excellent quick passing offense.

Now, I think they can play multiple styles on both sides of the ball, which is critical against great teams that can keep up with the Bills.

biggest take away from the off-season is that McD may have finally replaced his "keep it close, so the defense can win it late" philosophy, with the "score every time, with the defense making them pay for trying to keep up" plan.

constant attack mode on both sides of the ball would be good to see

agreed.  I am WAY more concerned with Dorsey than any other coach, but agree the Bills need to be attacking way more on defense.

Surprised (mildly) that Jones isn't signed by the Bills.  But am perfectly fine with seeing the rest of them hanging in the wind.  As long as they don't end up back in Buffalo, all is good.

looks like a LOT of guys (agents)  misjudged the market and what teams were willing to pay

Conversely, I wonder if Poyer's agent gave him the correct and blunt advice to get what he could early in the process.

A good number of those guys didn't misjudge anything; they weren't free agents by choice.  Either released, in the last year of their contract and not offered a new one or extension by their existing team.

DL Matt Ioannidis should be signed by us immediately!

who cares how they became free agents

they are on the market and most have missed the biggest window to get signed.

if this was their plan, it was a pretty flimsy plan

if not, somebody misjudged the market as to amount and timing

not much free agent money left to sign anybody

Yeah, I'm sure Carson Wentz being cut was a misjudgment on his part.  :classic_rolleyes:
