For all the recognition that "Don't Fear the Reaper" gets as the "cowbell" song...fact is, there's a hell of a lot of good cowbell rock.  This, Van Halen's "Dance The Night Away," etc.  I know I'm forgetting many others.

Any recommendations for my cowbell playlist?

"Low Rider"  War

"Superfreak"  Rick James

"Rock and Roll"  Led Zeppelin

You missed where my post was in reply to "Mississippi Queen," didn't you.  "Low Rider" has been on my list, I just forgot (as well as a few others).

I never realized "Rock and Roll" had a cowbell.  Always lost it in the blistering guitar parts, I guess.  Going to have to go listen to it again now.

I fixed it before you posted.

It happens sometimes when you read a thread backwards.

Fix it again.  "Rock and Roll" has no cowbell.

"Good Time, Bad Times" does.  Can't believe I forgot that.  As does "Moby Dick."

How am I only now discovering this video exists?

Animated Neal Peart is still a better drummer than I could ever hope to aspire to pretend to be.

Is the answer because it was only released sometime in the past 3 years as it is dedicated to Peart's memory?

1) I think it was to recognize the 40th anniversary of Permanent Waves.

2) It still took me three years to find it, which is unacceptable.

Obviously Stave Marriot was racist.

Yet when I saw Joe Cocker in "05 I thought his backup singers made the show

You know, I was thinking of a thread about songs with best backup singing parts/singers.

Reminds me how spot-on this was.

As far as entries for greatest backup singing, tough to beat this...

...or this.

In honor of Tina Turner (passed today, at 83.)

1) Does anyone doubt they were doing massive amounts of coke backstage?

2) Does anyone doubt they were doing each other backstage?

Ahhh, the cowbell. Bet this was one of your favorites!

EDIT: Do you think any of them were using psychedelics?
