Buffalo Sabres 2022 Offseason

They flat out dominated the baby Otters.

If Suchanek wasn't breaking in new pads giving up 2 early goals the game would've been way more lopsided.

Kulich centering Rosen & Rousek created a ton of chances & Savoie & Kozak were forces out there.

Sabres should seriously consider signing Sova in the next couple of weeks before he has to reenter next year's draft.  Looked really good all tourney & the D Prospect cupboard is fairly thin.  (Of course it isn't a huge deal as they've got Dahlin, Power, & Samuelsson with Jokiharju & possibly Johnson as LT support for the big 3.  But having another prospect in the stable couldn't hurt.)

Good move.  Pretty sure Adams was entering the last year of his contract.  Ever since Butler burned the Bills at the draft in his lame duck year as GM have ALWAYS wanted the GM to have at least 2 more years after the current one on his contract.  (And make sure the coach is locked up for at least 1 extra year.)

The little bit extra the owner is out of pocket when it comes time to punt the GM is well worth him being locked in to working for your team for 2 additional years should the owner want to keep him that long.

Sova invited to camp.  Hope he gets signed regardless of whether he goes back to the WHL this year.   He looked very good in development camp & the prospects tourney.

We still need to wait and see if the crazy depth of this prospect pool develops, but at least we are finally seeing some continuity from this franchise thanks to the Adams extension.

Have not seen any updates on lines today.  Apparently things were rather jumbled.

Mildly surprised Krebs, Cozens, & Mittelstadt all seem to be centering a line at present.  Thought there was a good chance 1 of the 3 would slide to wing & play w/ 1 of the other 2.

Donnie basically said not to read into anything at this moment.  They're basically just making sure younger guys get to play with at least one vet.

Not for nuthin but Dahlin was pretty damn good in 21-22…. Three years development beyond that?  Yes please.

Sabres.com is showing the Sabres -Phlyers game.  Not sure if you need a WNY IP addy to watch or not.

1-1 at the end of 1.

Biro gave the Sabres the lead on a nice feed from Rousek.  Konecny tied it for Filly off a rush.

Sabres won it 2-1.  Biro w/ the shot that may have been tipped by Tuch for the winner in the 2nd.

In all preseason games they're going through a shootout.  Rousek scored for the Sabres & Subban pitched a shutout so they won that as well.

Sabres.com will be showing the BJs feed of tonight's foray into Columbus.

Comrie will likely be getting hung out to dry as this is a HIGHLY Amerk centric roster, especially on D as the top D on paper playing tonight will be Bryson & Fitzpatrick.  (#6 & #8 on paper IMHO & possibly 7&8 as Pilut has looked good in his 2 games.)

Olofsson, Krebs, Quinn, & Peterka are the top F's making the trip.

The D is so weak because in last night's game (played at home) they dressed at least 5, if not all 6, opening night starters.

And there were likely at least 8 of the opening night F's in the lineup as well.

Lucky Comrie.

Saw that on another board.  There's a possibility that's an Ecklund rumor (aka garbage) that has been recycled.

If it's legit, expect the asking price will be high:  like a 1st a young NHLer (think Cozens or Mittelstadt), & a top prospect (think Krebs, Kulich, or Savoie).

Expect Adams has kicked the tires, but not sure he's ready to trade out that much while he's still figuring out what he actually has for a top line W.  Would definitely be a blockbuster & the 1st time the Sabres would be on the receiving end of a trade like that since Murray got O'Reilly.

If Robertson were available next year, could see it.  Just not sure Adams believes the team is at the point that that trade makes sense.  Have been wrong before.
