We just got back from Sicily (Hubby has the Sicilian heritage, not I). There are more Godfather tours over there than you can shake a stick at. "Oh look, they filmed this scene here!" and it is a patch of grass in the middle of nowhere. "They filmed that scene there!" and it is a few steps. Everywhere you go it is either Greek ruins or Godfather tours. And the tours were prolific the last time we were there, so this isn't new.  IOW, I am not sure they see it as a pejorative, but rather they embrace it for monetary gain (kinda ironic). 

I am not certain American Indian tribes dislike the sports team names such as chiefs, braves, warriors, etc.  (she mentioned it in her article, so why I bring it up).

I'm Sicilian on both sides, and while I like La Famiglia, Mafia doesn't bother me in the bit, anymore than growing up with the nicknames Guinea, Dago or Meatball. In fact, I enjoyed having people ask me if my family had ties, and I'd just shrug my shoulders with a "Who knows..." like response.

 

People need to lighten the F up.

Considering that how the term "Mafia" is used in relation to the Bills fanbase, I would say that Magauritte is a cafone and needs to va fa Napoli. It has literally zero connection to Italians.

It is an algorithm based on your followers,  likes, RTs, time spent viewing a tweet,  clicks, and videos viewed (to name a few things).

I'm not.  It just started getting emailed to me.

 

Problem is, you have to click it to mute it, which encourages the damn algorithm.  I'm hoping ignoring it will stop it.  So far, it's not impacting the algorithm.
