Ann
Jim Harbaugh weighing contract offer from Michigan that includes no-NFL clause for 2024 It has been nearly a decade since Jim Harbaugh coached in the NFL, yet he remains one of the more intriguing potential candidates in the upcoming head-coach hiring cycle. As the current Michigan coach prepares his team for the College Football Playoff semifinal against Alabama on New Year's Day in the Rose Bowl, he is also weighing a hugely consequential decision. Sources say Harbaugh, whose current deal runs through 2026, received an offer from Michigan for a 10-year, $125-million contract extension that would make him one of the highest-paid coaches in college football. Yet there is a caveat, and it's NFL-related. If he signed the deal -- which he has not yet done -- Harbaugh would agree not to entertain or accept an NFL job for the 2024 season. The NFL clause would be one season only, but that's apparently been enough to drag out the process. </snip>

Why would he sign the contract if he had any designs on the NFL for next year. It's not like they are not going to sign him if he decides to wait until after the NFL HC positions are all filled.

Did you know the Bucs have two "running game coordinators" and a running backs coach, and rank 30th in the league in rushing? Definite head coaching material.

Ann
Bill Belichick's future headlines unresolved coaching situations New England Patriots coach Bill Belichick and team owner Robert Kraft are expected to meet soon to discuss their futures. Although many around the league expect that a change will come in New England, the sides apparently have not yet talked about a split at any point this season, sources told ESPN. Crap Throwing Clavin
1 hour ago, Ann said: Yes. So the quote made no sense (I wish I knew where it was from). Rooney Rules says teams have to interview minority coaches. Says nothing about hiring. Reasoning behind it was to get minority black candidates more exposure as candidates than they would otherwise get. Actually a decent rule - increases exposure for minority black candidates, but hiring is still merit-based. EDIT: changed "minority" to "black," because I forgot that interviewing someone like Ron Rivera (Hispanic) or Robert Saleh (Lebanese-Muslim) doesn't count. Decent rule...but still flawed.
