I've watched college ball all year and haven't see as many questionable calls as in one NFL game. Something up

Awake just now from a quick sleep after being at the Army/Navy game in Foxboro. The Refs there were what the NFL should have. VERY few flags thrown and ALL of which were incontrovertible. That aspect of the game was refreshing and enjoyable.

The graphic said every penalty called in that game was a pre-snap penalty.

What a great ending too.

Anybody else believe the league is actually happy with the Reid and Mahomes meltdowns?

They're griping to high heaven about a call the REFS GOT RIGHT.

The league will use this as proof that the criticism of the refs is overblown.  'See, see, people yell at our dedicated professional qualified crews (barely got that out without laughing, it wasn't easy) all the time, but more often than not it's just sour grapes.'

I'm actually going to try to make a point to listen to Pat Kirwan today. He went off on officiating a couple of weeks ago and I'll be interested in his take.

I'm curious what Mahomes had to say about "just letting them play" after the officials gift wrapped him a Super Bowl ring against the Eagles.

Would be hilarious if Kermit never gets a call again and just destroyed his team and gets penalties up the ass🤣

looks like the league will consider revoking the Chief's Preferential Penalty Status.

Refs will no longer be obligated to slant all calls and non-calls to the Chiefs

In addition, the Fat Guy won't be consulted on all possible penalties before a penalty is assessed

those pesky policies don't apply to teams with Preferential Penalty Status.

might be a problem, though,  if that status is revoked

Which is why the league told Reid and Mahomes to throw hairy fits over it.  If their premiere player and most marketable team is bitching about correct calls, they use it to prove the officiating is good and all the complaints across the league are completely unjustified, and the league gets to keep manipulating outcomes.  In return, watch the league give the Chiefs another Superbowl victory.

Plus, it probably appeals to the Swifties somehow.  Never underestimate the league's desire to tie itself to that marketing force and attract the next generation of fans.

Plus - and this can't be overstated - it feeds the league's overall plan to make Spartacus miserable.

Again, you have misread the situation.

This is part of the NFLs plan to make the Bills their redemption story.

How else could the Fins blow a 14 point lead in under 3 minutes, making it very likely for the Bills to now win the division.

Expect some assistance down the stretch as the Bills move on to the Super Bowl.

Should have been called.

Except he wasn't.  Ignore the imposed line of scrimmage...his toes are on the yard marker, nose of the ball is at the yard marker.

Look at how Toney lined up, foot's farther forward, ball's farther back from the yard marker.  Toney was a good foot farther forward than Waddle is.

The mind-numbing inconsistency of it isn't this comparison, but how inconsistently the Chiefs are called for formation penalties.  Their RT is still only called very occasionally for lining up so far back it amounts to an illegal formation.
