how the click narrative has changed from 1 year ago

from hands down Super bowl favorites and media darlings to lackadaisical slackers at each others throats

Good.  When the mustachioed provacateur for the Snooze was convinced the Bills would be the Bickering Bills once again they set off on the 1st of 4 straight journeys to the Super Bowl.

Love it when guys that are known idiots are convinced the teams we're cheering for are toast.  The time to be concerned is like last year when the idiots are all (well, not Nick Wright, whomever tf he is, but the rest of them) picking them to be great.

The sad part is we were literally 3 plays from a 16 win season, despite everything we went through.  That roster was SB worthy when healthy, just like this one is.

People fail to comprehend that he probably had pain on every throw, at least for the first couple months after the injury.

That pain probably deeply effected his touch and accuracy on throws in tighter windows.

In Josh's world, the pain may not have justified the minimal pay off on short throws

It's pretty well known that his particular injury affects shorter, softer throws more than longer/harder stuff.

People love to look at results without context and form what are essentially baseless opinions that they're willing to go to war over.  My favorite will always be "Josh Allen sucked as a rookie, it's hard to believe he's improved so much."  No he didn't and no it isn't.

Write off the Buffalo BILLS this season at your own peril.

I figured he was just pretty average as a rookie.

His jump from 2019 to 2020 was pretty remarkable, though.

He had accuracy issues as a rookie.  Of course the narrative was that it would prevent him from being a good quarterback.

If there’s anything I believe about our qb1, he loves proving everyone wrong.  Being favored last year might have been been the worst thing for the team.

Hopefully Josh has seen the light and turns down these distractions

However, Matt Barkley is available

https://www.nbcsports.com/nfl/profootballtalk/rumor-mill/news/peyton-manning-struggles-to-find-willing-subjects-for-season-2-of-quarterback

Manning told the Hollywood Reporter that he is working hard at getting the right group of quarterbacks to participate in another season of the show, but most of them are telling him they don’t want camera crews following them around all season.

The show was an entertaining look at the NFL’s most important position, and fans will be well-served by a second season — if Manning can convince anyone to do it.

I'm not saying he was "great" but if you listen to the "heads", he was terrible.  There were VERY clear moments where his limitless potential was right in front of their stupid faces but they chose to ignore that and focus on the negative, all the while ignoring the fact that he was literally surrounded by a buncha guys who would be out of the league the following season.

Just in case anyone is wondering about what a unicorn he really is:

The list of guys who have potential and never live up to it is much, much longer, though, than the list of guys who achieve their potential.  Shit, the list of QBs in the 2018 draft that didn't live up to their potential is longer than the list of 2018 QBs who achieved it.

I'm okay with saying his first to seasons were at best average, and maybe sub-par, because 1) that's what rookies do, 2) saying that highlights the immense amount of work he did put in to achieving his potential, and 3) the immense amount of work he put in is a credit to Beane's ability to identify rookies who will work to excel, which is why this team is so deep.

So was the caliber of his receivers.

Yes, but how about his first TWO seasons? Hey, you sowed the seed. 😆
