But what's the water usage?  Real beef uses a hellacious amount of land and water.  It's why I cut my cheeseburger intake from 3x/week to "Whenever PETA does something extraordinarily stupid."

So 5x a week now? I assume you consume when you assume they are doing something stupid rather than wait till you read about it?

No, the rule is I have to read about it.  And it has to be not just stupid, but extraordinarily stupid.

There are days I say "I want a cheeseburger.  What's PETA doing today?"

Why so much hate? They spend 1% of all the money they raise on the animals! Thats a lot. Well its a small percentage but still. Thats 1 cent of every dollar raised!

Well, thats why all the hate!

I don't hate them.  If it wasn't for them, I wouldn't get to eat cheeseburgers.

2 things.... First, I have no idea what a hellacious is, but then why to the later? Are you afraid we are running out of water? Seems you cut back on hamburger, what about other beef cuts? If you change to salad as an alternative, how much water to raise the lettuce and other veggies for it? To wash it?

And finally, you cut from 3 to whenever PETA says something stupid? Doesn't that really give you a net increase of cheeseburger opportunities a week and not a decrease?

1) Yes, we're running out of fresh, potable water world-wide.

2) I don't eat as much steak as I used to, either...but a half-pound ribeye comes from one cow.  A half-pound of ground beef can contain beef from as many as a thousand different animals.  Unless you're buying direct from a local cattle farmer (which I no longer do, as I don't have the freezer space for half a cow anymore), a half-pound of ground beef has a huge water footprint.

3) I use far less water washing salad ingredients (not lettuce - hate lettuce.  Pointless, useless excuse for a vegetable) than it takes to make a cheeseburger.  By a factor of 500 at least.

Extraordinarily stupid.

You do know what the difference is between "stupid" and "extraordinarily stupid" is, right?  It's having to explain the difference between "stupid" and "extraordinarily stupid," ironically.

"potable" is just a word that means water hasn't been managed properly. I would counter with there isn't a drop less water on the face of the planet than the day it was created and the natural filtration process through the ground, or through evaporation is still working just as well as it was thousands of years ago. If you have a well, you can piss on the ground 75 feet away and it is pure water again when you pump it out to your kitchen sink. Now if you want to change your argument so that water is poorly managed I will accept that but certainly not running out of potable water

As for the salad, it's not just the washing, I mentioned to raise it, guess I should have been more accurate for you and said to grow it. Lettuce for instance uses up to 27,000 gallons of water A WEEK to grow while tomatoes demand even more.

I don't get the burger could be coming from thousands of animals vs coming form one because it doesn't matter anyway because it is still beef, was still raised, fed, watered etc. Hay btw uses much, much less water than human preferred foodstuff with perhaps wheat being the only exception to that.

no - water makes up 70% of the planet

instead of wasting entire country's GDP in Ukraine and trains to nowhere in California, build some desalination plants to make the ocean water potable

with all of the wonder drugs generating huge profits for Big Pharma, too bad they haven't found the magic concoction to clean waste water of all of their wonderful creations to recycle it

Who would have guessed lab created meat happens to be bad for the environment when compared to real beef?

Knowledge sharing among charitable funders is needed | Voluntary Sector ...

https://interestingengineering.com/science/lab-grown-meat-25-times-co2

Introduce lab grown meat to the serfs as a healthy and environmentally friendly alternative

Some serfs stop eating real meat.

Others won't comply so make it increasingly difficult to consume the real thing

Eventually only the ruling class can eat real meat

Oh wait, it's even worse for the environment.

No more lab grown meat

Eat ze bugs and be happy

Fresh water doesn't.

Try farming with ocean water.  Good luck with that.

what's "fresh" water

rainwater contaminated with acid?

tap water contaminated with flouride and other chemicals?

well water contaminated with sulphur?

now much worse can desalinated ocean water be?

maybe clean the ocean water and substitute it for the fresh water being used for industrial applications

Sweden Shocks Europe: Abandons 'Unstable' Green Energy Agenda, Returns to Nuclear Power

That’s right, climate loons. Sweden just dealt a severe blow to the globalist climate agenda by scraping its green energy targets. In a statement announcing the new policy in the Swedish Parliament, Finance Minister Elisabeth Svantesson warned that the Scandinavian nation needs “a stable energy system.”

Svantesson said wind and solar power are too “unstable” to meet the nation’s energy requirements. Instead, she said, the Swedish government is shifting back to nuclear power and has scrapped its goal of a “100 percent renewable energy” supply to meet the nation’s energy requirement, as reported by Slay.

While I'm not overly enthusiastic about nuclear energy, :applause: to Sweden for once again sticking their finger in the eye of the global narrative.

No shit.  Are there people who didn't know that?

The environmentalist parties in Europe in the '70s and '80s were almost universally funded and controlled by the Soviet Union.
