She didn't "say it" - she lied about it. Knowingly.

I really hope she's some economic genius behind the scenes because every time I hear her speak on some show or in front of Congress she comes across as some sweet but befuddled grandma that got confused and was separated from her tour group and somehow found herself in front of a microphone.

Bidenflation Is Even Worse Than You Think

CHRIS QUEEN

It doesn't take a master's degree in economics to understand that prices are up in every sector of the economy. The economy under Joe Biden is nickel-and-diming us at every turn, and Americans can see past the smoke and mirrors that the White House is using to try to convince us that everything is fine.

The federal government's measure of price increases, the Consumer Price Index (CPI), has consistently shown that inflation isn't going away. The most recent CPI report indicates a 3.2% increase in prices from Feb. 2023 to Feb. 2024. That's a significant increase, but it only shows the increase over a rolling 12 months.

To get a clearer picture of what Bidenflation looks like, we need to compare prices between now and when Biden took office. That's what TIPPinsights did, and the results show you that Bidenflation isn't just worse than the White House wants you to believe — it's worse than you might have realized.

Wholesale inflation rose 0.6% in February, much more than expected

* The producer price index, which measures pipeline costs for raw, intermediate and finished goods, jumped 0.6% on the month, double the Dow Jones estimate.
* On a year-over-year basis, the headline index increased 1.6%, the biggest move since September 2023.
* Two-thirds of the rise in headline PPI came from a 1.2% surge in goods prices, the biggest increase since August 2023, thanks to a 4.4% jump in energy.
* Retail sales increased 0.6%, less than expected, while weekly jobless claim filings nudged lower to 209,000.

Krugman still wonders why people don't realize how great the economy is

Is it really a good idea to remind voters what the spring of 2020 was like?

For it was a terrible time: It was a time of fear, with Covid deaths skyrocketing. It was a time of isolation, with normal social interactions disrupted. It was a time of surging violent crime, perhaps brought on by that social disruption. It was a time of huge job losses, with the unemployment rate hitting 14.8 percent that April. And do you remember the great toilet paper shortage?

Yes...all Democratic policies.

Four years ago we were in peak lockdown with travel at a historic low (so lowthat it caused shortages throughout the supply chain.)  Oil consumption wasso low that oil companies were effectively paying people to buy oil futures.  Gas prices were artificially low, for reasons having nothing to do with Trump.

Comparing April 2019 prices instead of 2020 would be a far more accurate comparison.  And still show the drastic effects of Biden's inflationary policies.

Followed, I'm sure, by 45 minutes of guests and hosts mocking every single person on the panel for being a democracy-threatening flyover states nutbag that hates trannies and pronouns.

America's Hamas-supporters are going to need more than fear of an undecided white guy with a Great Clips haircut and a pullover sweater to vote for Biden.

Can't help noticing that the panel was all white people, except for the two non-white women who are doublessly white supremacists anyway.
