Not only did DeSantis inkoke Fauci's race (Elf) while speaking ill of Fauci (something only allowed when disparaging Whites), DeSantis also assumed Fauci's gender.

And I have a funny feeling that in the not so distant future Amazon will reveal to the world the existence of transgender elves.

Are you sure Bezos will want to blow his cover?

He's not a serious challenger. That, or he is a complete idiot.

Probably the latter, but comments like that aren't going to harm him. Those who support DeSantis are never going to vote for him anyhow, and the liberals are so stupid, polarized, and rabid that they will just applaud his "courage".

Gov. Ron DeSantis made good on his promise to take action against the environmental, social and corporate governance movement (ESG), which he called an “alarming trend” and a threat to the American economy.

James Lindsay, the author of “Race Marxism,” described ESG as a “weapon in the hands of ‘social justice warriors’ to shake down corporations and a tool in the hands of those seeking to impose ‘one world government.’”

“This guidance will ensure that the decisions made by these civil servants on behalf of the people of Florida are in accordance with the voters’ values as expressed through the democratic process rather than blindly in lockstep with the ESG mania taking hold of Wall Street and Washington,” the governor’s office said in a prepared statement.

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis announces break for motorists on SunPass toll bills (msn.com)

With the general-election campaign fully underway, DeSantis said he hopes to expand the toll-discount plan as part of a larger tax-cut package during the 2023 legislative session. DeSantis said offering breaks to motorists would help offset inflation that he contends will be exacerbated by President Joe Biden’s executive order Wednesday to forgive student-loan debt.

“It’s somewhat tongue in cheek, but it is true,” DeSantis told reporters. “If you sent [them] to Delaware or Martha’s Vineyard or some of these places, that border would be secure the next day.”

President Biden frequently travels to his Delaware home when not at the White House.

Legislators delivered DeSantis’ immigration wish list and boosted his $8 million request to $12 million to ship undocumented migrants out of the state. The money was to be administered through the state Department of Transportation.

The money has yet to used because, according to DeSantis, federal authorities have not sent undocumented migrants picked up at the southern border to Florida.

DeSantis told reporters in Tallahassee this week that Texas’ recent action in bussing migrants to Washington, D.C., and New York has meant “we haven't seen what I was expecting that we would see” with undocumented immigrants entering Florida.

DeSantis suspends four Broward County School Board members, appoints replacements (msn.com)

Gov. Ron DeSantis on Friday suspended four Broward County School Board members for engaging in what the governor described as “incompetence, neglect of duty, and misuse of authority.”

“Because you may disagree on local policy decisions is not a reason to remove someone from elected office,” added Rich Levinson, who served on the board for 12 years. “This is all about political retribution for not firing Superintendent Runcie. It’s about blaming the Superintendent, and any School Board Members who supported him, for the Marjory Stoneman Douglas shooting. Governor DeSantis impaneled a Grand Jury, under the guise of school safety, as a pretext to remove School Board Members who did not fire the former Superintendent.

DeSantis said the decision is in response to findings of a statewide grand jury that was tasked with investigating the Broward school district’s response to the 2018 Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School mass shooting that left 17 students and staff dead and 17 injured. The grand jury report, completed in April and released last Friday, cited the “incompetent management” of the board members and former Broward Schools Superintendent Robert Runcie over the cost overruns of a $1 billion school-safety program.

In April 2021, Runcie, 59, was arrested and charged with lying to the grand jury over his testimony pertaining to how the district used state funds meant to bolster school safety. Legal experts have said Runcie’s perjury charge is rare and difficult to prosecute.

The board did not fire Runcie after his arrest. Instead, the board, citing its contractual obligations to Runcie, approved a nearly $755,000 separation agreement with him in a 5-4 vote in May 2021.

Rosalind Osgood, the former Broward School Board chair who resigned from the board to run for a Florida State Senate seat, said in a statement. “It is my personal belief that unless someone commits a crime, no one has the right to remove them because then they go against the voters’ choice. And no crime was committed here or we would have been arrested,” she said.

Stand with Parkland, the group that represents 15 of the 17 victims’ families in the Parkland shootings, also strongly supported DeSantis.

“We applaud the Governor’s action to follow the recommendation from Florida’s 20th Statewide Grand Jury and remove the Broward School Board members — citing their gross-negligence, misfeasance, malfeasance, and shear incompetence caused the mishandling of many of the aspects of the tragic date that took the lives of so many at Marjory Stoneman Douglas.

https://www.zerohedge.com/political/desantis-calls-reckoning-fauci-if-republicans-take-congress

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis called on Republicans in Congress to investigate White House COVID-19 adviser Anthony Fauci if they take control of Congress and following statements from Fauci that he’s stepping down soon.

If the Republicans take control, we need a reckoning on all of this,” he told Dan Bongino, adding that during the pandemic, Fauci “criticized me every step of the way.” The 81-year-old White House adviser had been “wrong on all the important” issues relating to COVID-19, said the governor.

For example, said DeSantis, Fauci tried to “sow fear in the population and scared a lot of parents” when he called for schools to be shut down for in-person learning. “We can never go down that road,” DeSantis said, adding that Fauci and other federal government officials in the future will again pivot to saying that lockdown measures did not go far enough.

His comments about Fauci came after Bongino played a video of Fauci asserting that COVID-19 lockdowns did not cause damage to people, although some studies have shown otherwise.

Notably, after initially supporting some COVID-19-related rules in early 2020, DeSantis later rescinded most of them and refused to impose new mandates.

In Florida, we will not let them lock you down,” the governor said during an event in December 2021. “We will not let them take your jobs, we will not let them harm your businesses, we will not let them close your schools.”

Who committed Florida's biggest election fraud? (msn.com)

Voter registration arrests and partisan redistricting have one thing in common, aside from hiding behind a curtain of duplicity. They both aim to diminish the influence of minorities, in order to strengthen Republican power in Washington and Tallahassee.

There's a reason African-Americans by and large don't vote Republican. They know who has their fair treatment in mind. It's not someone who threatens them with arrest if they make a mistake when registering. And it's not someone who redraws district lines so that when they do vote, it can't possibly make a difference in their lives.

Florida's gubernatorial race is a 'referendum on democracy' but 'the odds do not look good': journalist (msn.com)

Edsall’s op-ed/essay is about more than DeSantis; it is about the MAGA movement in general and whether or not the U.S. will remain a democracy.

Diamond told Edsall, “if a Trump Republican becomes president in 2025, I am less worried about church-state relations, or a federal ban on abortion, the passage of extremely illiberal national legislation, and so on…. I am worried about the extreme politicization and abuse of federal government power, the targeting of political enemies, and the mobilization and emboldening of the violent, well-armed, extremist fringe of Trump followers — who, even though they may represent a small percentage of Trump supporters, are in absolute numbers significant.”

“Crist has already made it clear that he intends to make the election a referendum on DeSantis, adopting the slogan ‘Defeat fascism, defeat DeSantis,

How Ron DeSantis' 'unprecedented' crackdown on Florida’s school districts is helping the far-right (msn.com)

The news outlet also noted: "While he’s counting on making public education a cornerstone in his reelection campaign against Democrat Charlie Crist, his agenda is clearly less about classroom learning or teacher pay, and more about remaking the schools into a haven for right-wing extremists."

And the Republican governor is not holding back. “Florida’s school boards need members who will defend our students and stand up for parental rights and will ensure Florida’s children are protected from woke ideology in their classrooms,” DeSantis said at a campaign event last month. “I am proud to stand by each of them.”

I just love that "parental rights" is somehow fascism to progressives now.

That's probably the line where your average, relatively apolitical Americans says "Oh, come on, you people..."

To a Progressive, any system in which they do not have complete control over is fascism
