They tried to use him but if there was even the threat of him being blocked, he ran right into it and couldn't disengage. Milano is a far more effective blitzer because he understands both angles and leverage that TE29 clearly struggles with. I also loved the "career low 72% of the snaps." HE MISSED THREE GAMES. That means he was only eligible for 81% of the team's plays, regardless. So in reality, he played nearly 90% of the snaps he was eligible for. Breaking it down further: He played 100% of the snaps in 9 games, 98.5% in the 10th, and over 92% in the 11th. He missed time in the TN game (80.4%) because we were blowing them the &#%$ out and in the Minnesota game because he got hurt (only played 36.5% of the snaps). He wasn't on the sideline for performance issues (which probably should have been the case at times), he was either injured or out because the game was decided. It took me literally 30 seconds on PFR to blow that particular point out of the water. The Bears can absolutely pay $18M a year for a guy who made 66 tackles, 1 sack, 3 QB hits, and 7 passes defensed...because they have to. The BILLS would be insane to do that when he is probably at best a zero "wins over replacement" player. The entire outcome of the WC game was on us. We gave them 17 points in the last two minutes of the first half. They had scoring drives in the first half of 18, 18, 11, and 8 yards. That game was literally 2 or 3 plays from being a 40 point win for us. There was pretty much zero chance they were going to win if we didn't just lay down and give it to them - which we really tried to do. 2 1

They lost five receivers, four of whom were under 6' tall. And gained seven, six of whom are over 6' tall. So the receiving corps has gotten taller...and Shorter. 1

People seem to forget that), defensive backfield injuries, two deadly blizzards, and Hamlin dying on the field...any one of those would define a team's season ("Oh yeah, that's the year that..."). All five in one season? Beane and McDermott worked a minor miracle keeping the team as focused as they were. I don't buy any of that line of thinking. I just don't think they're built to compete with a physical team like Cincinnati. They spent a lot of headspace trying to build to beat KC and it cost them
