Purdy had to delay his surgery because the swelling is still not down. I don’t see him being ready to go in September. Trey Lance will get another shot.

He hasn't played his best in the biggest spots but he's been consistently productive. I don't see much if any difference between he and Carr.  It's hard to see any of these FAs leading a team to a title (unless Rodgers surprisingly goes somewhere like SF), but given how many bad QBs you see in the league, it's easy to see how Carr, JimmyG and even Jones are going to get big $$ this offseason.

https://www.outkick.com/aj-mccarron-xfl-create-memories-for-his-kids/

McCarron could likely be on an NFL roster or at the very least a team’s practice squad, but neither of those opportunities would give him an opportunity to play meaningful snaps in front of his three young sons.

That’s all the 32-year-old is after these days, making memories and showing his three kids that dad can play some football.

“My 6-year-old loves watching tape of me on YouTube. That’s a big reason I chose to return this way,” McCarron told the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. “I probably could’ve tried to come back with an NFL team and had a chance to probably made bigger money, but no one knows what the future holds. I’m enjoying this and it’s a great way to create some memories for me and my boys.”

McCarron is two starts into his XFL career and is 2-for-2 in making memories for his family.

After leading the Battlehawks on a late game-winning drive in Week 1 against the San Antonio Brahmas, McCarron got emotional during his postgame interview as his sons greeted him with high fives and hugs.

Black holes for darkness retreats aren't what they used to be

https://slate.com/culture/2023/02/aaron-rodgers-darkness-retreat-lights-lights-lights.html

According to Berman, the 300-square-foot room in which Rodgers spent his time is a partially underground structure devoid of light, with a queen bed, a bathroom and a meditation-like mat. It is fully powered, and the lights can be turned on from inside the room.

Zoom in, please.

It is fully powered, and the lights can be turned on from inside the room.

Durability. Carr can start and complete a full season. Did you know Carr has only missed 3 (yep three) games in 9 years? He was benched last season for one of them. That is incredibly impressive for any player at any position in the NFL. Jimmy G is made of glass. he has completed a full season in only 1 of 9 seasons. Has managed 10+ starts only 3 of 9 seasons. Even taking away the 3 seasons in New England as a backup that is 1 in 6 seasons and 3 of 6 as a starter. Not impressive at all.

That would be a big difference to me as a GM.

could be 1 less backup QB option

https://www.outkick.com/mitch-trubisky-pittsburgh-steelers-return-interest-cap-hit/

The Pittsburgh Steelers don’t sound interested in cutting Mitch Trubisky loose.

Trubisky has one year left on his deal with the Steelers, and his cap hit is just slightly north of $10.6 million for the upcoming season. With Kenny Pickett locked in as the franchise’s starter, it would be a bold move to carry a backup with such a large cap hit.

However, it sounds like that’s exactly what the Steelers plan to do with Mitch Trubisky, who opened last season as the team’s starter.

Saw some really interesting stats comparing Daniel Jones and Mitch Trubisky:

D Jones:

Record: 21-31

Comp %: 64.0%

YDS: 11603

TD: 60

INT:34

Rate: 86.5

0 Pro Bowls

1 x led team to playoffs

M Trubisky:

Record: 31-24

Comp %: 64.2%

YDS: 11904

TD: 68

INT: 43

Rate: 86.4

1 Pro Bowl

2x led team to playoffs

One is considered a bust, and the other wants @$45 million per year... amazing what optics do for or against a player.

Situations and coaching matters.  Jones was 95% of the way down the bust highway when Schoen/Daboll rescued him.
