Not a Mets fan  (go Cubbies!)  but I feel bad for Showalter, he's a real baseball guy.

.

He’s getting tons of crap but literally has like ten core players drastically underperforming this year.  Only so much you can do.

Meh. A LOT of this is on him. He has made a bunch of absolutley mind boggling decisions with the lineup and pitching staff this year. He often has fans, the press and even the TV analyists (Hernandez and Darling) baffled as to what he is doing.

Literally every regular is anywhere from 30 to almost 100 points UNDER their hitting averages from last year. Its insane how bad its been. Yeah, yeah....Lindor and Alonso's total offensive production has been there. But still...thats a BIG dropoff. Even with Alonso, he used to be good for lots of singles and doubles, along with the power and the "small ball" part of his game is now just...gone. And when the entire team is underperforming, the manager and his coaches have to bear some responsibility for that.

It is almost unbelievable that they won 101 games last year.

Well, Thunderdome or whatever the #### they call it is a pretty small building.  Can't really expect them to squeeze a full 20k into it.  :classic_laugh:

What a terrible way to end what started off as a  very special season.  I thought I misread the capacity of the new stadium when it said "30k".  At least it won't look as empty.
