A few things clear from the replies:

 

A significant majority of people just want to drink their beer without politics.

A small minority, on the other hand, are less interested in drinking their beer than they are being validated by it.

 

Somehow, the majority are the ones portrayed as having mental issues.

 

And somehow, the minority insists that bowing to the majority is undemocratic.  Let that sink in for a bit, progressives - less for the hypocrisy of it, and more for what this means for direct participatory democracy in principle.
