The BILLS don't really play traditional receiver roles (with the exception of Cole B.).  Almost every single WR lines up at each position throughout the game. 

 

Shakir is fine and has had success whether he's playing X, Y, or traditional slot.

Once again...the NFL beat writers are creating a narrative based on how they wanna make drama, not reality.

 

The BILLS are not going to screw with Diggs because it will hurt the organization's ability to attract free agents in the future.  It's simply not done that way at OBD.

Diggs had some ups and downs.  Not sure what drove the downs but he still had 107 receptions for the season, 7th in the league.  Pretty damn good.  While he's a bit petulant at times, he mostly seems like the consummate pro to me, working to refine his craft and very determined to win on game day.   As a betting man, I'd bet on him having an even better 2024 as long as he's healthy and trading him seems unlikely.

He's still on the team and the centerpiece of the WR corp

they need him to produce, not pout all year because he was screwed

His dead cap is $31M if the BILLS try to move him.  There's just no way that's happening.

Well, the season ended with a very catchable ball, thrown right to his hands, going in between them. 

 

Let's see how that sits with him in the next few months when he has no one to blame but himself. 

 

The best thing that could happen is that Shakir develops into a WR1-like presence next season and Diggs feels the push to up his game.

Diggs is smart and realizes that any answer he gives gets picked apart, so he's being purposely obtuse because it's fun for him.
